One of the first wrestlers I remember from the early 50's TV when we had but two channels and sometimes not much else except this and boxing was on late night. He dominated the 50's and he is well remembered here along with Gorgeous George, Fritz von Erich (the von Erich family story is a true American tragedy), Bobo Brazil, the (original) Sheik, the Fabulous Kangaroos, Dick the Bruiser, Hans Schmidt, and so many others most of which are also gone now. I think Lou also made a brief appearance on a WWF show not too many years back and he looked pretty good at that time. What a shame.

Chief Wahoo McDaniel also just died also but he was more from the 1960's era.
