Former Capitol Griller Finds Freedom at FR!
Posted on 04/27/2002 9:18:40 AM PDT by whkk
Are there any other former capitol grilling posters taking permanent refuge here besides me? That place has become nothing but extremely offensive liberalist garbage. From what I can tell, even the moderates have quit going there. I posted a thread pointing out that it had become awfully liberal and the moderator deleted it! CG is now off my list completely, for good.

I used to go there...the Chicken wings were pretty good.
Now I lean towards Hooters as my fave.

Just to clarify--capitol grilling, besides being a restaurant I assume, is a website that was originally supposed to be frequented by beltway insiders who could post rumours and inside scoops anonymously. Instead, it has increasingly been taken over by liberals. Apparently the moderators like it that way, because they've taken to deleting conservative posts before anyone can even reply to them. P.S. I meant to post this on the "vanity" forum. Still learning my way aroud here. Sorry!

Gee, the Catholic Church wasn't mentioned on this thread until you brought it up. Why don't you go create your own little website and bash away?

CG has lately, in the past several months, became a joke. I used to enjoy reading a lot of the comments, but something happened and I can't pinpoint what it was. The leftwing nuts have taken over, the very extreme ones that is. I don't consider myself an extreme on the right side, but anytime I would post the slightest refutation of the sneering snide remarks against the Pres., I would get jumped on by the radicals there. I won't name names, but you probably know who they are too.
The last straw is this guy, the Sri Lankan moslem, you know who I mean, who posts one trash article after the other against the US and all things western. He seems to have been given free reign to bash the US, and the moderator must either think he's being open-minded by allowing it, or else he enjoys seeing all the bashing going on.
I rarely even go to CG anymore, it's just a joke to see all that allowed. (I even found an actual photo of the fellow--the Sri Lankan, but won't post it publicly.)

Deprecating Catholics without proffering a scrap of
credible evidence to support religious bigotry
is becoming a common occurrence here on FreeRepublic.
FreeRepublic Catholics must be doing something right :-)
As we Catholics say, "Offer it up."
Hang in there and keep the Faith.

TLB--Where have you been!! It's so good to hear your voice... I mean read your name...well, I know that sounds dumb. You were one of the reasons I stuck around there after it started going down the tubes. I'm glad to see you!

Zeroflux leans far left to Pure Democracy. His goal is to disrupt the election. To create mass voting to 3rd parties and to vote for yourself as a protest to Republicains and Democrats. The end result is revolution and street fighting. That is the propose of capitol Grilling web site.

Exactly. I used to think he was more just an independent, which seems so much more inocuous. But he's more . The last straw was when he deleted my post this morning simply because I guess he didn't like my remarks. I wish there was a place to "Unregister" for CG so that people could see how few people still frequent the site.

Nah, I'm a Lutheran and they haven't excommunicated me from FR yet for nailing up theses on the door.
The trick is to not damage the wood on the door when you hammer in your points.

Capitol GrillingIt used to be a great place. The Left and the Right could gather there and discuss the issues in an atmosphere of mutual respect. On the afternoon of 9/11, however, two of the partisan Lefties started screeching "Blame Bush! Blame Bush!" like vultures circling over the wreckage. Bear in mind that the instantly incinerated ashes of the WTC victims hadn't even settled to the street yet.
That started the flame war and while it has abated from time to time it has never really stopped. Various invasions by the Anti-Freepers in March (targeting TLB and myself), and by the Smirking Chimpsters in January (targeting all things conservative), have served to keep things hostile.
Some polite but firm put-downs to these Philistines by some well-mannered Freepers would be most welcome.
