PLEASE!! Don't propogate their agenda by labeling yourself a 'stay at home Mom'! I'm sure you do a whole lot more than just 'stay at home', whenever anyone uses such a term they demean all the blessed women who are home working harder than any wage slave!
The battle begins and ends in the establishment of labels and the branding of something in people's minds, let's do all we can to fight back and let society know that making a home is a high calling!

I don't know--I think the term "stay at home mom" is pretty descriptive and its opposite ("work outside the home mom") is too. Of course, when I'm at work I practically spend more time Freeping than working, and when I'm "home" with my kids we don't stay "home" at all (we would all drive each other crazy!) but instead spend almost all our time in parks, libraries, playgroups, etc.

Well, I do stay at home as opposed to going to work. I can't see how that is demeaning.

umm, how about the DIVORCED women with children who HAVE to work AND do housework, etc., etc.
AND in my own personal case, i get a whopping $94 a month for my two kids as my ex-husband has been "finding" himself for the last 12 years., i.e. getting an education (PHD) in lieu of working and sending child support money
he does plan to start his career THE MOMENT the youngest turns 21. (legal limit where child support discontinues).
not all of us can live in fairy land and have hubby support us.

PLEASE!! Don't propogate their agenda by labeling yourself a 'stay at home Mom'!That is ludicrous. That is precisely what I am and have no problem whatsoever wearing that 'label'. If you take umbrage with it, maybe you are the one who needs to re-evaluate. You can label me whatever your heart desires but to my girls, I am their mom who is always at home when they need me. They couldn't care less about my label so neither should you.
