Head found in shark's belly

A human skull has been found inside a tiger shark caught off New South Wales, Australia.

Fisherman Bob Van Leuwick looks into the mouth of the tiger shark he caught
Four recreational game fishermen found human body parts in the stomach of the shark when they cut it open after returning to shore.

"The first thing we found was a whale bone and we were interested to see what else the shark had eaten," said skipper Bob van Leuwick. "Then, all of a sudden, a human head rolled out. It was quite a shock."

Police are checking missing person files and trying to identify the remains. A post-mortem examination will be held tomorrow but it is not yet known whether the remains are those of a male or female.

Mr Van Leuwick said: "We slit the gut open to see what was inside it. Some bits and pieces came out that we didn't realise were part of a human. But then the skull rolled out and we realised we'd caught a man-eater."

Crime scene officers and a forensic pathologist were called and the remains were taken to a morgue in nearby Newcastle.

"The skull was pretty well preserved. It has all its teeth, so the police said they were pretty confident they could find out who the person was. I reckon the remains were no more than a week or two old," said Mr Van Leuwick.

The discovery recalled memories of Sydney's "shark arm case" of 1935 in which a tiger shark which had been put in an aquarium regurgitated a human arm with a rope tied to the wrist. The victim was identified but no one was ever convicted of murder.

Enviro-whackos insist sharks do not bite people. They'd call something like this a shark "accident".

Check out this report of a shark biting off a good chunk of leg from Dr. Erich Ritter - a leading "sharks are our friends" nutcase, who was recently attacked and nearly killed by one of his cuddly ocean friends...

Dr. Erich Ritter Recovering From Shark Accident

Here's an excerpt from that report - please take note of how the liberal idiots portray the case as an accident. I've highlighted the "juicy" bits...

Dr. Erich Ritter, the director of Green Marine and one of the world's leading experts on shark behavior, is recovering from the shark accident that occurred April 11, 2002, at the shark research facility on Walker's Cay in the Bahamas. After thousands of encounters with sharks without incident, Dr. Ritter was mistaken bitten by an 8 foot Bull Shark. Based on available information, the Bull Shark was going after a remora that had grabbed a piece of bait fish and then darted under Dr. Ritter. As the Bull went for the remora, it bite into Dr. Ritter's calf. Unable to release its bite, the shark tore off a substantial portion of Dr. Ritter's left calf. Dr. Ritter was immediately flown to a trauma center in West Palm Beach, Florida. He is presently in their intensive care unit, being treated for the wound. Dr. Ritter is recovering nicely, and it is anticipated that he will be hospitalized for from 4-6 weeks.

Notice they don't say that he lost his leg, nor do they admit that the Bull shark didn't spit the "mistake" out, but gladly took it as natural meal.

Normally, a wouldn't wish a shark attack on my worst enemy, but this kook really was asking for it, and with his idiotic attitude, did deserve it.

How about the Larson cartoon where the grandpa shark is telling the little grandchildren sharks?:

"A swimmer in the water is worth two on the beach!"

One more classic Far-Side:

Two huge 6ft, nasty looking cockroaches standing in the bathroom, and one says to the other:

"Shoot, drain's clogged again. Man, I hate to think what might be down there."

Didn't an Aussie Prime Minister end up lost at sea a couple of decades ago? You don't suppose . . .?

He's probably lucky all the 'researchers' around him got him out of the water quickly, otherwise that bull shark might have proved a couple theories wrong by showing his 'appreciation' of human flesh, and coming around for a second, possibly fatal, bite.
