I worked on re-engining the F-14. The F-14A used the P&W TF-33. It is the same engine that was used in the F-111. It was re-engined with the GE F-110. It gave the Tomcat approximately 33% more power! The Hughes AN/APG-71 fire control system was added to round off the F-14 improvements. Add the AIM-54C and you have two types of airplanes, Tomcats and targets!
