Gov. James E. McGreevey has angered many by proposing a hike in cigarette taxes, freezing state aid for schools, and asking rural towns to pay for state police patrols.

Now a proposal to double registration fees for pleasure boats is making waves with recreational boaters.

Didnt he campaign on a promise to not raise taxes? Seems it is the only thing he has done the past 4 months.

Is there anything that McGreevey doesn't want to tax? He must be the kamikazi governor -- determined on destroying his chances of reelection.

Oh, well. In the great scheme of things, that's certainly better.
