O'Reilly Naive Concerning Liberal Professors
GOPUSA ^ | April 11, 2002 | April Shenandoah

Bill O'Reilly recently took command behind the pulpit of his alma mater, the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. After listening to O'Reilly answer questions I drew the conclusion that he is either totally naive or he is skirting unspoken, off-limit subjects. On the nightly O'Reilly Factor (Fox News) he appears to be shamelessly bold with no-holds-barred. However, when a student stepped up to the microphone and stated that he could count on two hands the number of conservative educators at Harvard, and asked,"why do you think that most professors are liberal -- O'Reilly replied that he had given the question a lot of thought and he believes that most professors are just wanting to be "politically correct."

Even the people you all consider "good guys" have been told what the "off limits" topics are. This is common place. Ask anyone who has ever worked in news(who will be truthful with you).

I understand that O'Reilly is not a politician, and not bound to any party. But if he were, his views would qualify him as a classic RINO.

OhReally is an entertainer, IMO. He has his fans, of course, but he's just performing an act.

O'Reilly is great! The fact the is supposed to be an independent and very popluar gives him a lot of credibility. The left-wingers generally won't touch him. Yes, he entertains with information regarding social and political issues that mainstream media considers "off limits". I love him.

"But if he were, his views would qualify him as a classic RINO. "

That's granting that he is a republican to begin with!

But, to be sure, if he did not have the acceptable 'positions', he never would have been employed. You don't find Naders or Buchanans with regular shows or big media newspaper columns. I thought Keyes would be the exception but his views seems to have been "Kristolized".

O'Reilly is a populist, not a conservative. While he supports many conservative issues, there are many areas where he takes a more liberal stand; for example campaign finance reform, gay rights, and spending US tax dollars to fight AIDS in Africa.

OReilly puts on a good show, and he has broken a few important stories, but intellectually, he is a lightweight.

He is the only one I've seen directly take on Bill Clinton (calling him corrupt), Hillary Clinton, Hollywierdos, Jesse Jackson, criticizes issues such as homosexual agendas in schools, Catholic cardinals covering molesters. I could go on and on. He is a concerned citizen who does more for this society than anyone else I know. Who cares if he's not a staunch conservative. He is a good American.

I agree. And he's generally great entertainment too. I love the section at the end of the show where he reads his email.
