TOP Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erakat told CNN today that Israel has resumed its occupation and ended the Middle East peace process.
He says Israel's vast offensive on the West Bank, and a speech from Prime Minister Ariel Sharon announcing the creation of security zones there, heralded the end of the peace process - the end of the Oslo accords and the end of the Palestinian Authority.
Erakat says there is no longer a Palestinian Authority.
This time I hope he speaks the truth.
If only that were true.
The Palestinians choose poorly, to ask for war when they were winning with the media and debates...
When does this POS PA lie to the world?
As far as the peace process being over - that isn't Erekat's decision.
I think it is more a case of the obvious now being stated and acknowlegdged by those who perpetrated the breach from the beginning.
Will they now have the courage to dethrone Arafat?

Dr. Saeb Erekat has been negotiating the interim, or transitional, agreement of the Oslo peace process with Israel since its signing in 1995. A year later, he was appointed by President Yasser Arafat as head of the Palestinian Negotiation Steering and Monitoring Committee.
Erekat holds the post of Minister of Local Government in the Palestinian Authority. He was elected to the Palestinian legislative Council in 1996 on the Fatah slate representing Jericho.
Born in Jerusalem in 1955, Erekat went to the United States to complete his higher education. He obtained his M.A. in political science from the University of San Francisco and his doctorate in Peace Studies from England's Bradford University. He returned to Palestine to lecture in political science at An-Najah University in the West Bank town of Nablus.
A former journalist, Erekat served for 12 years on the editorial board of Al Quds newspaper, the Palestinian daily with the largest circulation.
Erekat is the author of eight books and numerous research papers on foreign policy, oil and conflict resolution. He also served as secretary general of the Arab Studies Society.
All good things, IMO... Now, the Israelis need to set up a puppet gov't they can deal with.
