The organizers of the Long Bets foundation ask you to come up with a claim about the future and $1,000.00 to kick it off.

Others can then make counter bets: all porceeds go to charity.

Some of the more intriguing bets:

By 2030 commerical airliners will routinely fly in pilotless planes.

The universe will eventually stop expanding

At least one human born in the year 2000 will still be alive in 2150.

And how is the guy going to know in 2150 that he won or lost his bet?

I think somebody has figured out how to fleece the gullible at $1,000 a pop. This guy may have a future in 900-numbers.
