Blair was supposed to get a CIA briefing today. That may account for his nervousness.

I notice that President Bush, ever the gracious host, wore a coat and tie so as not to make Blair look like a dweeb. Those little things do mean a lot when entertaining, and kindnesses go a long way towards cementing friendships.

Blair was wearing a mourning suit, hence the black tie and suit.

Is everyone deaf here. Bush and Blair have both also said that they expect Israel to pull out of Palestine. Immediately.

I think our president just shared some of the intelligence that has been gathered with Blair. Blair looked pretty "shook up". I've been saying all along that this is much more serious then most people believe. It is a terribly heavy burden those two men carry, and it's about to get worse.

Blair is a FAR better man then I originally thought, the Brits should be proud of him.

London and Brixton have mosques whose clerics foment fanatical Islam. As you know, the show-bomber came from there.

Britain could take some terrorist strikes itself when we go after Saddam.

The fear of dirty nukes and other WMDs being used in the U.S. and Europe is very real. I'm nervous about it, too !

I rather expect my president to be wearing a coat and tie on all occassions unless he's on personal business or heading off to Camp David or his ranch for a time.

"..I notice that President Bush, ever the gracious host..."

Always, he's always genuinely warm, gracious and respectful. In this instance I think they may have dressed to suit the situation. I feel certain that Blair and his staff knew that casual was the standard dress on the ranch. I remember seeing Blair in a sweater and jeans when he visited Camp David. I expect coats and ties were chosen to confirm the serious nature of their discussions.

Wow! I'm impressed. I knew there was a reason I voted for Bush.

This is enough for me to forgive him for signing the unconstitutional CFR bill.

To heck with the Bill of Rights.... the man knows how to dress and how to make his friends feel comfortable.

I totally agree - and it reaffirms my assessment that our President is aware the press has vilified him for seeming to be tooooo casual about this affair. Also, it shows unity with Blair (to the media).
