If Yilmaz is "head of the state run religious affairs directorate," does this make him "the country's chief Muslim cleric?" Or is the Times of India just being lax with their terminology?

The Jewish state's incursion into the Palestinian territories and its besieging of the headquarters of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat has triggered harsh criticism from Turkey.

No critism over the 55 killed by the daily suicide bombers over the last two weeks?

Sure there was plenty of that.. To put this all into perspective, There were over 30 people dying daily in terror attacks in Turkey during the late seventies. These terrorists were sponsored by other nations. I suppose we could have attacked those, but we secured our own country instead.

No doubt, have all the countries of the world lost their marbles? They have no problem with suicide squads but they're all pissed off at Israel for getting fed up and going on offense. Israel gave peace a chance and all it got them was stepped-up suicide attacks.

We're no lovers of Arafat. Is escalation the answer? I think restraint by the moderate and surgical police operations agains the lunatics are better solutions. Add to that an environment in which both Israelites and Filistines can live with dignity and provide for their families.. That would do it.

Is escalation the answer I assume that the Israeli's have concluded that only a massive use of force will enable them to neutralize the Terrorists. The passover bombing was the equivalent of the bombing of the mosque on temple mount: an assault not just against Jews but against their religion.

Its all about concessions - history is full of the concession mistake. The more you give "in the name of peace" the more your enemy demands. Israel should've never traded land for peace - it amy ultimately spell her doom..

No nation should have to put up with what Israel is & Turkey experieinced 25 years ago. ISrael is trying to do something about it and the world is upset. Maybe I don't get the big picture.

Oh really is that why you (Turks) send back to Iran refugees - former Muslims who have converted to Christianity to certain death? Such hypocrisy...Israel should do what the Turks have done and continue to do - ethnically cleanse any opposition, any other religion, and any leader daring to question the Turkish mafia state.

Of course, the difference is that Israel is a democratic nation that allows divergent opinion and divergent religions while Turkey does not!

"I will meet the Greek Orthodox patriarch, the leader of the Syrian Orthodox community and the Jewish rabbi on Monday to discuss the developments in Palestine,"

What the mullah is really saying is: "I will meet with the few remaining stubborn Christians and Jews and let them know that they better submit to what we want. Otherwise, they know what could happen - another bomb exploding outside the Patriarchate or another Christian home, another Christian imprisoned, etc etc.

Go ahead and list your stupid baseless arguments. All nothing but lies coming from a person who looks me up to post her hate. I'm not even going to bother getting into it with you for the 50th time.

Excuuuse me! I didn't know that it was "frowned upon" by the Turk to post opinions and facts. Thank God this is not Turkey where those who believe and speak contrary to what the official Turkish line is ends up ----dead or in prison!

By the way if you cannot bear to respond to what I write, don't! I will understand (and hopefully others as well) that you have absolutely no credibility whatsoever.

Opinions and facts are always welcome. Lies, lies, and more lies, that's what's frowned upon.

What was it you messaed me the very first time we met on this forum? Tou told me to crawl back under the rock I came out of. You are a liar and are cheating these people, pure and simple.

For you - brainwashed by a state controlled press/education system/police state - the information I post may be lies. Did you ever think about that? That maybe you are the one who has been hoodwinked all these years? However, knowing what I know about the poor Muslim Turks an awareness of truth would not only be a Herculean task but an impossible one as well.

As for the proverbial rock - that was because of a response to me by you and I apologize.
