You know, I heard that the original Marlboro Man died of lung cancer.
Do you know if that's a fact or just another Urban Legend?

One of God's great wonders...the Smokey Mountains. I love to visit them any time of year, but fall is an extra special time to be there! Great choice of music today to fit that picture. I'm not Bluegrass Music's greatest fan, but I do like that song! My husband's new "favorite" movie is Oh Brother, Where Art Thou. So Bluegrass is heard around our house more freqently now :)
Have a great Saturday!
To: Aeronaut
Good morning Aeronaut. Blue sky's here today.
To: SAMWolf
Tell me it ain't so, SAM!!
So....now instead of, "Remember the Alamo", we're supposed to say, "Remember when we had an Alamo"??!

Thanks for all you two do at the Canteen! Have a super Saturday my Friends. {{Hugs}}
The eagle represents freedom. Living as he does on the tops of lofty mountains, amid the solitary grandeur of Nature, he has unlimited freedom, whether with strong pinions he sweeps into the valleys below, or upward into the boundless spaces beyond. It is said the eagle was used as a national emblem because, at one of the first battles of the Revolution (which occurred early in the morning) the noise of the struggle awoke the sleeping eagles on the heights and they flew from their nests and circled about over the heads of the fighting men, all the while giving vent to their raucous cries. "They are shrieking for Freedom," said the patriots.
Thus the eagle, full of the boundless spirit of freedom, living above the valleys, strong and powerful in his might, has become the national emblem of a country that offers freedom in word and thought and an opportunity for a full and free expansion into the boundless space of the future.

Here is a very recent picture of some of our fine young soldiers returning from cleaning out caves in Afghanistan. These pictures make me burst with pride...I love our military....and I love all who support them, especially our dear Canteen FRiends.
Members of the 1st Battalion 187th Infantry walk towards a hangar at the Bagram air base, April 6, 2002. The battalion had just completed a mission in eastern Afghanistan near the Pakistani border, searching caves. (Peter Andrews/Reuters)

WHAT??! No sugar and milk?Sugar and milk on grits???? That's disgusting.
Grits are meant to be et with overeasy eggs, bacon, salt, pepper, and butter all mixed together. That's good eatin'.
