By offering unequaled quality, performance and value,Kimber sets the standard for the world s gunmakers.Today more than ever,Kimber is out front.Twelve new pistols, four new rifles and a line of fine shotguns are being rolled out.Stop by one of the 1,500 Kimber Master Dealers across America.See for yourself why everyone wants a Kimber.
New Pistols
Eclipse Series ..45 ACP pistols feature stainless steel slides and frames with an elegant brush-polished finish.Standard features include 30 LPI front strap checkering and Meprolight ®night sights.Details on page 18.
The Custom Shop s LTP II .45 ACP is the first Kimber with a new, innovative external extractor system.Front strap checkering, a flat top serrated slide and other custom features make it ideal for Limited Ten competitions.Details on page 20.
A much-improved polymer frame, stainless steel slide and ten round magazine make the Ten II high capacity pistols the finest of their kind.Details on page 24.Finally, the Stainless Target II and Pro HD II are chambered in .38 Super.Details on pages 10 &14.
A new safety system is now standard on every pistol.Unlike other 1911 systems that rely on an initial increased trigger pull to move a blocking device, the Kimber Firing Pin Safety does not increase or alter trigger pull in any way. Instead, depressing the grip safety overrides the block, allowing the pistol to operate the way a 1911 was intended. This new internal safety does not change the pistol s appearance or function.
New Rimfire Rifles
The Kimber 22 Youth was designed with reduced dimensions and proper balance for smaller shooters. While stock and barrel lengths are shortened, this rifle is a performer.Like all Kimber 22 s it is tested for accuracy and must shoot a 5-shot,50-yard group measuring less than .400 inch center-to-center.
The Kimber 22 Hunter offers unsurpassed Kimber quality in a more affordable rifle.
Without compromising classic lines, function or accuracy,a different walnut is used for the stock and substantial savings are passed along.Details on Kimber 22 rifles begin on page 26. All Kimber rifles with walnut stocks now have a hand-rubbed oil finish that showcases the wood s warmth and unique character.
New Centerfire Rifles
The Model 84M LongMaster VT ..22-250 Rem.combines the strength and control of the Kimber laminated high comb target stock with the accuracy of a match grade 26-inch bull barrel.Elegant in every respect,it is perfect for varmint or target shooting that demands precise shot placement.
Hunters who take stands in open country will appreciate the Model 84M LongMaster Classic in .308 Win.The ultra light Model 84M action keeps the weight where it enhances accuracy in the barrel. This rifle weighs just 7 pounds,5 ounces the same as most standard rifles but accuracy puts it in a class by itself.. Details on page 30.
New Shotguns
The Augusta Series of fine over &&under shotguns is a bold step for Kimber, considering the competition. At the same time,Kimber shotguns have the refined features,no-compromise quality and lively feel of the finest German and Italian brands and offer a better value. As with rifles and pistols,Kimber s entry is sure to change what competitors and shooters expect from a shotgun.
Sporting,Skeet,Trap and Field models are offered in 12 gauge, each with a host of features found only on the world s best over &unders.Based on the sleek,shallow-framed Boss-type action, stocked in fine walnut and carefully dimensioned, shooting a Kimber Augusta is an absolute pleasure. Details on page 34.

Some notable mentions:
Introduction of a .38 super calliber to some of the existing handguns. (Isn't a .38 super similar to a hot 9mm load?)
Kimber is has also introduced a line of over and under shotguns.
A .22 youth rifle is now available. It's a smaller version of their .22 rifle, ideal for younger shooters. (I can hear the liberals gnashing their teeth!)

I have more shotguns than I probably need. But not as many as I'd like...

.38 Super, ~450#' is like a mild .357 Sig or .357 Magnum. Handloads optimize it far ahead of any 9x19 mm. In a tuned pistol, it is a fine choice for target or defense with Corbon ammunition. .38 Super ruled the handgun target penetration game from 1929 until 1935 when S&W introduced their large frame revolver in .357 Magnum.

Mmmmmmmm......Kimber.

I have a .357 Colt Python that I enjoy shooting. Is the .357 Sig measurably different ?
To: Eric in the Ozarks
There is NOTHING like a Colt Python. It is the Swiss watch of handguns.
But alas, your question was concerning caliber. Some fairly solid data exsists that would seem to prove that the .357 Sig (when fired from a 4" bbl) has identical terminal performance to the legendary 125 grain Magnum load. However it has some drawbacks. The Sig round is a pain to reload due to the taper crimp that was so foolishly selected by the creators of the cartridge. Also, it is pretty limited (compared to the .357 magnum) when it comes to bullet weight and style. For example, you're able to find anything from 110 grain to 180 grain bullets for the .357 Mag and don't have to worry as much about increased overall length because you're not feeding it through a magazine. Those 180 grain hunting loads are nice. The technology was a long time coming.
But the Sig load is what it is and nothing more. It was intended to simulate the 125 grain .357 Magnum load, and does it quite well. Thus it has accomplished the goal of it's designers.
Cheers.

I'm looking for a .22 rifle as a gift to a twelve year old that will have the best value appreciation. Is the Kimber model the one? I will only buy American. Thanks.

Let them whine. Fools. Hooo boy... Did you *ever* just give me an idea.
Somebody ought to come out with a kid's gun, about the size of a Chipmunk rifle, but built as a semi-automatic AR-15 lookalike.
If you think you've seen liberals screaming now, wait till they see *that*. They'll be running for their encounter groups with their Birkenstocks flapping, tearing their hair out

Everything I've heard about Kimber rifles is good. They're beyond any Ruger or Remington rifle in terms of quality (and price) The Youth Kimber has a suggested retail price of $746. The way it was explained to me, Kimber made their .22 rifle by taking a full size hunting rifle, and scaling it down to a .22 cartridge. Rifles such as Remington and Ruger were made for .22 cartridges. But this isn't native to Kimber alone. I know Sako also makes a high quality rifle. And there are a couple other brands out there too.
Concerning the Youth rifle, I can't believe that nobody has yet said:
YOU'LL SHOOT YOUR EYE OUT!

Tell me about it. I can't afford the Compact CDP right now, so I'm stuck carrying around a Beretta .22 Bobcat as a carry weapon. Yes, I know the Bobcat also comes in a .25 and .32, but I figure that once I do get the real gun, the Beretta .22 will be cheap to shoot all day long. After all, I can get a box of 400 .22 rounds for $10 at Sportsman's Warehouse!
Aah yes, it will be nice to be carrying a 1/2" hole around. (Okay, .05" short of half an inch, but what perp is going to pull out the micrometer to measure it?)

Great post. Kimber makes a very(!) good product. I'd like to see the new shotguns. I don't,unfortunately, own anything made by Kimber, but one of these days I'll manage to change that.
To: VRWC_Member428
And I can attest that Sako does indeed make a very fine rifle. I have one of their lightweight models(the light action that was used for rimfires and Hornets-not the centerfire action),and it reliably puts 3 shots in one hole at 50 yards. That's out of the box,by the way, with no modifications to the rifle, other than a scope, and using Winchester factory rounds. Not too shabby.

I saved my pennies and nickels and just got a Kimber CDP pro. (as if I could get a CCW permit in my county anyway, so it is for home defense). I fired it for the first time a few days ago, and it is sweet. It has night sights as well. Kimber makes a very fine product!

Since Smith and Wesson forges the frames for the 1911's, I should have bought Smith and Wesson stock last year. With the business that Kimber sends them, the stock shoud keep going up and up.
