Of course morbid obesity is a handicap. Who could disagree with that?

The real debate is whether or not people who choose to put themselves in that position should be entitled to the benefit of special treatment/protection.

I guess being fat is no different than being any other category of physical handicap ~ many paraplegics, many people debilitated by other non-fat physical problems got there as a result of their own conduct.
