...has anybody heard any updates on this: Is it possible we could push for a Pali-Israeli peace and a strong military retaliation against Hizbollahs rocket and encampments?

Expect a severely strong retaliation as this is the second firing of rockets into Israel and the first one was met with little or no response...(this means planning is involved and could indicate a strong retaliation vs. Hizbollah.

I'm betting that they are shrewd enough to have developed the "neutron" bomb. In which case 3 days are sufficient for natural decay of residual radiation.

Israel it is said has tactical neutron weapons. NO radiation... just vacuum cleaners needed for cleanup. Ready for occupation in about three weeks.

USA has restarted its tactical neutron program too.

Don't believe it??? Wait and see.

The Fox Morning show is unwatchable. As more and more boomers like myself retire the viewing audience becomes less tolerant of the poor quality that is currently being displayed in the mornings by Fox News. They need a mature, informed, and credible anchor for the morning spot and more reports from reporters on the ground in the areas where the news is happening.

I could not disagree more. E.D., Brian and Steve are remarkable in not only their background knowledge, but their excellent questions and quests. More to the point, they are willing to point out sides to the issues that the nasty katie colics and bryant gumbals of the world ignore.

They are vibrant, FUNNY, on top of the game and without fail, cause me to smile, maybe even laugh, because their obvious enjoyment of each other, their banter to lighten the mood, is terrific.

I am a baby boomer who first thought those three were the biggest idiots on A.M. TV. I stuck to C-Span until, little by little, I began to turn to Fox News Cable for updated information.

Now they are part of my morning, and Mancow-what a goofy, ranting nutcase, helps me to vent my own anger over the sickening PC crap that is going on!

Long live FOX AND FRIENDS!

I dunno why, and I know this is simple (but, sigh, what are gonna do-lol) but is seems to me the very name Jerusalem stems from the Jewish ethnic race. I know both sides have historical claims to the city and all, but the very name of the city seems Jewish.

Would we come to the aid of Israel? This could ignite WW III?

Of course we would come to the aid of Israel.

WWIII will come with or without our friendship with Israel.

"Various rankings place different nations in different places.. but Israel is always in top 10. I personally believe they are about 4th in the world, behind US, China and Russia.

What about North Korea?

Jerusalem called also Salem, Ariel, Jebus, the "city of God," the "holy city;" by the modern Arabs el-Khuds, meaning "the holy;" once "the city of Judah" (2 Chr. 25:28). This name is in the original in the dual form, and means "possession of peace," or "foundation of peace." The dual form probably refers to the two mountains on which it was built, viz., Zion and Moriah; or, as some suppose, to the two parts of the city, the "upper" and the "lower city." Jerusalem is a "mountain city enthroned on a mountain fastness" (comp. Ps. 68:15, 16; 87:1; 125:2; 76:1, 2; 122:3). It stands on the edge of one of the highest table-lands in Palestine, and is surrounded on the south-eastern, the southern, and the western sides by deep and precipitous ravines. It is first mentioned in Scripture under the name Salem (Gen. 14:18; comp. Ps. 76:2). When first mentioned under the name Jerusalem, Adonizedek was its king (Josh. 10:1). It is afterwards named among the cities of Benjamin (Judg. 19:10; 1 Chr. 11:4); but in the time of David it was divided between Benjamin and Judah. After the death of Joshua the city was taken and set on fire by the men of Judah (Judg. 1:1-8); but the Jebusites were not wholly driven out of it. The city is not again mentioned till we are told that David brought the head of Goliath thither (1 Sam. 17:54). David afterwards led his forces against the Jebusites still residing within its walls, and drove them out, fixing his own dwelling on Zion, which he called "the city of David" (2 Sam. 5:5-9; 1 Chr. 11:4-8). Here he built an altar to the Lord on the threshing-floor of Araunah the Jebusite (2 Sam. 24:15-25), and thither he brought up the ark of the covenant and placed it in the new tabernacle which he had prepared for it. Jerusalem now became the capital of the kingdom. After the death of David, Solomon built the temple, a house for the name of the Lord, on Mount Moriah (B.C. 1010). He also greatly strengthened and adorned the city, and it became the great centre of all the civil and religious affairs of the nation (Deut. 12:5; comp. 12:14; 14:23; 16:11-16; Ps. 122). After the disruption of the kingdom on the accession to the throne of Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, Jerusalem became the capital of the kingdom of the two tribes.

NK is generally ranked in the top 10 as well, but given their inability to feed the population, and lesser technology, I just don't see their army as a massive mobile threat. To most of their neighbors certainly, but could they take Russia, China, US or Israel? I don't think so.

re: Note that Jesus specificaly went on the cross so that Jews and Christians' differences ... could be settled at the cross for us once and for all.

I've got to differ. He didn't die to bring peace between men, but rather peace between sinful men and a Holy God. He himself said he didn't come to this world to bring peace but rather a sword. We are commanded to live at peace with all men (so long as it depends on us), but that's no guarantee it will happen (as it often doesn't depend on us).

But we can have peace with God and a restored relationship ... that was guaranteed by the cross.

Fascinating. Thank you so much. SO....Judah is definitely Jewish. Jebusites? I dunno. At any rate-what a story-I was unaware of the geographical surroundings of Jerusalem, interesting to learn.

The two mountains-with the history of David and Solomon, David - Zion, Solomon - Moriah, - is also very interesting. For the first time maybe, I have them in chronological order. Imagine living in a city that predates 1010 BC. I cannot.

At any rate-who has the strongest religious claim to this city? Again-the name seems to indicate 'Jewish'. And many thanks for your tremendous answers.

"No need, Israel already has the Golan Heights seeded with Enhanced Radiation Warheads (Neutron bombs) in preparation for a Syrian invasion."

Don't think so. Nukes of this size are customarily fired from artillary or aircraft, beats the heck out of leaving little armed nuclear weapons laying all over the place.

Bush has dissappointed me.

We need to abandon the concept of a palestinian state. EVER. It is only a pretext, canard, fascade for further ARAB attempts to ANNIHILATE Israel. that is all it EVER was about. Bush needs to face it. Oslo MUST be discarded. A palestinian state must be discarded. They have used it to justify terrorism. THE stated ISLAMIC religious command is to drive Israel OUT of existence. As such they are rebels and must be dealt with for what they are... religious terrorists.

Where are the "moderate" islamic states? There aren't any. Turkey is so secular it does NOT qualify. Egypt, Jordan and Saud... are all supporting terrorism. So much for clintons go along to get along doctrine of foreign policy...

Israel wants the water and the farmland in Lebanon.

Utter nonsense. Lebanon is not part of the ancient land of Israel, was not part of the land promised to it under the Balfour Declaration and was not part of the 1947 UN mandate. Also, Lebanon was not stupid enough to attack Israel in 1967, like Jordan. Israel already exports food, and can get all the water it wants from Turkey, if needed. Israel only went into Lebanon in 1982 because the Pallies were there with massive amounts of arms, and they were infiltrating into Israel and killing innocent people inside Israel proper (sounds familiar, doesn't it?). Israel pushed the PLO out of Lebanon and forced Arafag to go to Tunisia (too bad the didn't off him then, when it was easier to do). Israel stayed only because it was necessary to prevent addition incursions (they didn't clean out all of the ba$tards). Anyway, they never operated any farms or took any water (except, presumably, minor amounts of water for the troops that were there).

Your quest to make Israel look like the big, bad imperialist aggressor against the poor, innocent, good-willed Pallies is as hopeless as it is transparent. Go peddle your nonsense somewhere else, like the DU.

By the way, Israel has no need to use tactical nukes in Lebanon. Rest assured, they can take care of your Hezbollah friends about as easily as they've kicked butt on your "brave" Pallie friends in the last week.

The Koran says God is finished with the Jew, and the Jew is to be a servant to the Muslim.

You are so right. I just saw an auction for some Islamic literature on ebay and that is essentially what was said in the description. The guy put a whole SERMON into the description. Yep the Muslims are now God's chosen people and he has thrown out the Jews because they killed the "last chance prophet Jesus." Never mind the fact that God's covenant with Israel was UNILATERAL.
