I am enclosing an email I received from an Australian doctor who has been living in Israel for the past seven years and who just recently married a cousin of mine.
The pastor of our church is quite the missionary too. He recently returned from a trip to Nagaland in India.(free, sponsered by a private individual)
He was greeted with much love by the former head hunters. :) We now have a BIG mission there with some wonderful people.
It's amazing how many rupies you get for a dollar. :) One day of labor for me helps those those missionaries for months!
A close friend lived at Kibbutz Menhaim..one of his friends served with a special forces squad ..he lived in Kfar Gil'adi near the Lebanese border.
My friend Tim would drive up to Kfar Gil'adi to meeet his friend..and to go into Lebanon..this was in the late 70's.
On one trip they were on a narrow winding road..some Arabic teens were blocking the road ..and were a bit unruley when asked to move aside.
The special forces friend got out of the car after a moment and some cursing in Arabic..pushed one teens away from his bicycle and threw it over the roadside precipice.
Tim said he was startled..his friend who was so disciplined came apart..and overreacted to a minor incident.
As Tims friend got back in the car he said.."Arrogant little bastards...I'm probably going to have to kill him when he gets older"!.
Tim would often ask his freind what's been happening..whats the IDF up to..he knew his friend would not tell..but he would look at his eye's when the answer "Nothing" came.
During another visit to Kfar Gil'adi his friend was absent for soccer the next morning...a few days later he showed up...Tim asked.."Where were you"..the answer.."business".
10 years later..Tim found out what "Business" meant..over drinks..his friend shared why he took off that..Business was going into Lebanon..to a mountian top fortress with his special forces unit...there they had a firefight..and captured the leader of Hizbullah .
Tim would tell me stories of others on his kibbutz..of Generals..who loved to tend gardens while not seeing duty..of "Landscape experts"..who were pilots in the IAF.
Tim said he marveled at their discipline..how they seperated duty from life...constantly Tim was suprised.
"He said to me..Brad..Israeli's enjoy life..they really live..they seldom waste brain time on the B.S...they know their lives could be forfeit in a moment..they understand their place." "The Arabs will never defeat Israel".
My friend Tim often comments about our world here in Canada..."Such cry babies he say's..we have no problems here"!
"If you look at the last few years you can this about Arafat: Either you cant control your own people, in which case, why are we negotiating with you, or you are controlling your own people in these terrorist attacks, in which case, why are we negotiating with you?"
This pretty much sums up the entire problem I would think.
If you send this letter to your own mailing list as a personal email campaign of your own, think of how many tens of thousands of Americans that just we freepers can reach.
This man spent a lot of time writing of the history of the region and how everyday living is for he and his family during this reign of terroe. Can we do less than take a few minutes tonight or tomorrow to give his words wings beyond the comparitively few here on this forum?

This is only because Arafat will only be satisfied by a total destruction of the Jews, much like his Nazi predecessors.
The Palestinians only understand the language of violence. They see a generous offer as weakness, and to them weakness is an incitement to violence. The Palestinians/Arabs and Israel's enemies hate Israel greatness and their contribution to Western civilization. The difference between the Israelis and the Palestinians is crucial, it is not that appeasement is futile but it is dangerous. However, Israelis should never again be driven from their homes into foreign lands by terrorists.
