Help talk John Warner into retirement

John Warner, at 202 224-2023, needs to hear from a lot of people that there is no better time than right now for him to retire from public life.
Lots of reasons, including gun issue stands and his sabatague of Ollie North's run for the senate, but the major thing which I cannot forgive was Kosovo. Having somebody who thinks it's cool to bomb christians for the benefit of muslims in charge of that senate armed forces committee is too much like having somebody drunk or on drugs driving an eighteen-wheeler down the highway of life.
There figures to be a very attractive libertarian candidate for the seat and, unless Warner can be talked into retirement, a democrat could easily walk off with the seat with 43% of the vote. There's no way I could hold my nose hard enough to vote for Warner. If that elects a democrat, hey, those are the breaks; at least it'll be a democrat without the blood of 5000 little slavic orthodox kids on his hands. Warner would be a third choice.

The guy's name is Jacob Hornberger, from Ashton Va. I believe. But the far better solution would be for Warner to leave voluntarily.

The Democrats aren't running anyone against Sen. Warner because they know it's a lost cause. There was one female general who had declared, but she withdrew after September 11. John Warner is not influenced by his constiuents and only listens to the voices in his own head. He won't retire this time. I am interested in learning more about the Libertarian candidate, too.
For anyone who doesn't know, it's possible to include "Virginia" in your sidebar topics.

Is this another April Fools joke?
Sure hope so.

Hornberger is a wacko who believes in completely open-borders, says Congress has no authority to say who comes in or to regulate foreign or interstate commerce.

Funny, sad, and true! I did a search on
Jacob Hornberger and quickly learned there's no way I could support him. It's back to the write-in campaign idea.

Maybe the idea then is to write in Donald Duck. If Duck were to get 30% of the vote, Warner might get the idea and retire after the election...

But the far better solution would be for Warner to leave voluntarily. Regardless of what you think about John Warner, your "better solution" is a waste of time. He's not leaving, at least not on his own.

Warner has no principles. He won't volunteer to retire. It's like expecting Robert Byrd to retire. We would have to drag him out. He's power-hungry.
We have two choices - vote for this Hornbarger guy or organize a write-in campaign for Ollie North. Either way, with enough votes we can get the message to Big Jawn that some Republicans remember what he did to Mike Farris and Ollie North during their runs for office.

Actually the Democrats aren't running anyone against Warner because they don't need to!Exactly! Warner was the best friend the democRAT party has. I wonder how bad Warner misses his old buddy Chuck Robb. Those two used to seem inseparable.

I'm writing in either North or Farris. They're better behaved in mixed company. So there!
