Well, I didn't really mean to make a political statement about George HW being there. Obviously, W is going to have his family for Easter. I just meant that with the turmoil in the Middle East and his Dad being there, he (the Dad) is probably going to have some influence about any statement made by W. I think this is unfortunate, particularly for Israel.
Again, I hope I am wrong.

It truly sickening that we have turned our back on Israel. There was a time when my wife and I were drinking "partners".
She turned her back on me and joined ALANON. At the time the "betrayal" was almost more than I could bare.
By the Grace of God I no-longer drink. I will forever be indebted to my wife's "betrayal".
Look near before you look far.

Thanks, I'll be watching. I suspect it will be the usual-of-late triangulation thingy, codemnation of both sides and plea for peace. I hope I'm wrong, though, and Bush supports Israel more than that.

So,we need to see the eventual "good" outcome that will result from President Bush taking these clintonesque postions vis a vis Israel and Palestine?

Look at the terrorist scum hanging out with Arafat:
"Among the dozens of Palestinians entrenched in Arafat's office are a number of senior PA officials, along with a number of wanted individuals who had been arrested in the past, including those responsible for the assassination of Israeli cabinet minister Rehavam Ze'evi."
"Military sources said that as well as Ze'evi's assassins, present in Arafat's office are Fuad Shubeiki, a PA official linked to the Karin A weapons boat; Commander of National Security forces in the West Bank Haj Isamil Jabber; the head of intelligence in the West Bank, Tawfiq Tirawi; Ramallah governor Abu-Piras Liftawi and Arafat advisor Nabil Abu-Rudeineh."

Bush is going to object to suicide bombings (really going out on a limb), tell us all how he's going to free the world of terrorism..."We will not fail..." and then beg for Arafat to not be killed or injured. Surely, the Good Book spoke the truth when it said, "Don't put your trust in princes."

I don't think that promise extends to anyone else.

I am trying to find the President's remarks but am only getting the Queen Mother's death information now. ON the tube (I have a TV without access to the Fox cable channel in the room with my PC - so am limited to local news channels and CNN. Ugh. CNN is only giving info about the Queen Mother's death.

Breaking news...Explosion in a cafe. What a suprise! I was talking to my mom last night and I told her watch the news at about noon (pacific time). Expect more bombings. It makes me sick that I was right. Bush better stand by Israel or I will freak!
To: mickeylee
How about they cut off one of Palifat's appendages for every new bombing?
To: The Great Satan
Each bombing confirms the obvious. The PA and Arafat have been harboring terror organizations. According to the Bush doctrine, the PA and Arafat are the equivalent of the Taliban.

President Bush is deeply concerned about the loss of innocent life - (re: terrorist attacks in Israel) - I fully understand Israel's need to defend itself - I respect that - a country that has received a wave of suicide bombers into the heart of its cities......I urge the Israeli government make sure there is a path to peace as she secures their homeland. There's got to be a peaceful solution. I have been assured by the Israeli government that Arafat will not be harmed. He (Arafat) has got to speak up - he has got to make it absolutely clear that the PA does not support these terrorist actions. Gen. Zinni will stay there and try to find opportunities to work for peace. Last night our administration supported a UN resolution to support a ceasefire to start the process to end this cycle of violence. Here we are on one of the HOliest of Holidays and our prayers and thoughts go to the families of the victims - and I pray for peace...and I urge all parties to recognize that terrorists cannot stand the thought of peace. All of us must work together to find ways to stop this terrorism.
To: Wild Irish Rogue
Had to do the politically correct thing, couldn't show up Arafat's candlelight broadcast.
