I've often wondered if she came back under a different user name, but I've yet to run across any new posters with quite as many spelling, punctuation and grammar errors as she frequently had.
Exactly!
What a Cluster Fu*k!
For sure!!!
I certainly don't need 'Missouri' info at the top of my pages.
I read the St.Louis Post Dispatch for that. It's a nuisance and takes up a fourth of the page.
I still haven't found 'USO Canteen. : (
Honest.
Hey, at least we've stopped complaining about the new format!
"Let them eat cake" HUH??
Don't worry, you don't have to physically move. The FR "refresh" button was always redundant with the I.E. "refresh" button anyway.
See my post #275. It shows you how.
I think so. This site scrolls like an old Mexican dirt road.
It is. A self search takes four minutes and freezes me up so I can't do anything else (I connect at 56K). Lastest posts is extremely difficult to read (the right hand side is unreadable) and it too takes minutes to load. Been on 30 minutes this morning and I've been able to read one thread (this one). I can't see newbies doing anything but coming here and clicking off. It is a real shame. FR was the place to go for up to the minute news and comment. If anyone comments on my comments, don't expect a reply. I may never see it.
You see, I like to freep occasionally at my cubicle at work. The old FR was very clean, so it made it a lot less obvious that it was 'not work'. This design is obviously 'not work'.
Plus, cleaner designs are always more successful designs. Go to the Yahoo home page. Lots of links, very clean, no graphics, maximum use of space with little by way of glitz. Yahoo is one of the most successful pages on the web. Drudge report is another example: Plain font, many links, very clean. It is visited daily by more than 1,000,000 people.
I do not predict that FR will have the growth that it used to have. And I will reluctantly be forced to stay away during work hours at least.
I'm sure John is using this thread for feedback and will implement some new user suggestions (Not those suggestions! Those have already been deleted.) and delete some functions that prove to be either untenable or just so user unfriendly that folks can't get the hang of them.
What the heck, most of us didn't know the first thing about HTML when we landed here and now we're whizzing around posting pics, changing fonts, etc.
Yeah, whatever happened to her?
