[history]
Public school officials nationwide are banning children from playing "cops and robbers," citing zero-tolerance policies for anything resembling violence at school.
Children are being suspended or expelled, and civil rights activists argue the policies are too harsh because they punish first and ask questions later.

The moral-liberal school districts, at the behest of the Libertarian Socialist Alliance, are encouraging children to play "jack-booted thugs and maomao-druggie freedom fighters" instead.

So? Girls don't play cops and robbers and as we all know there are no psychological differences between boys and girls.

Good evening, CJ (I wanted to use another moniker but didn't want to offend your delicate sensibilities). Libertarians are the last ones who would push this crap. The order is as follows for that:
Democrats
Republicans

Yet another great reason to shut down government schools for good.

"Mr. Thomas also defended the zero-tolerance policy. "We have suspended play when they're using imaginary weapons until the guidelines can be developed to help the staff differentiate between dangerous and imaginary play," he said." (Washington Times)
News flash, School Superintendent Thomas. If two elementary-school-age kids are pointing their fingers at each other, any "weapons" involved are imaginary. If one or both kids is holding an object that would convince the average cop or bank teller it's a gun, then maybe you have something to worry about.
Only in a government school would administrators admit to doing such crap.

A society that cannot distinguish between children's play and dangerous violence is a society on the road to its own destruction. I understand that liberals can't understand that children will not have some natural affinity for liberalism. Liberals can't understand why anyone wouldn't be a fuzzy-headed liberal. However, I can't understand why we continue letting these people run our schools.
