Jersey officials have released a study saying black drivers speed more often than others despite Justice Department efforts to keep the report under wraps, but they promised yesterday not to slow efforts at ending racial profiling.

State Attorney General David Samson said the $426,000 study did not undermine the state's admission that New Jersey law enforcement officers engage in racial profiling. He said he "remained committed" to its "eradication."

In Newark yesterday, the head of the state's National Association for the Advancement of Colored People chapter called the study an attempt to vindicate state troopers who practice racial profiling

Au Contraire. It proves that State Troopers, intimidated by the notion of losing their jobs by even the hint of conducting racial profiling, have left black drivers alone to wantonly break speeding laws. Black drivers know it and take advantage of the lapse. State Troopers conduct "Reverse Racial Profiling" on everyone else instead because it's safer and easier for them to do so.

The truth is that EVERYONE in NJ speeds all the time. I and everybody else drive 75-90 on the 65 mph highways and 65-75 on the 55 mph roads. We, black and white, do what is reasonable.

Do you want to argue? Then explain the 55 mph limit of a few yrs. ago, the 55-65-75-no limit limits in the various states currently.

If you drive on highways I am sure you noticed that driving at the limit may put your life and others in jeopardy, since everyone else drives 10-20 mph faster.

I live in NJ. I'm a white guy, who occasionally gets labeled a "racist" by my Liberal friends. And I here to tell you this study is bogus. If you see a car going 55 on the NJ Tpk, nine times out of ten it's a black person. The cops do stop them more (duh - because they commit a disproportionately large number of the crimes), and the law abiding ones just don't want to give the police an excuse to stop them. If you see someone driving over 80 who changes lanes four times a minute, the chances of his having a dark complexion are diminishingly small.

Blacks lead the nation as a group in just about all crimes (Rape, murder, assault, drugs, etc.,) according to US Dept. of Justice publications, so why should it be a surprise that they break traffic laws?
