So Let's Assume The Republicans Have Majorities In The House & Senate
Posted on 03/28/2002 7:19:50 PM PST by jla
I've been hearing an awful lot about how W is just maneuvering now so the Rep's can gain a majority in the the Senate while retaining it's edge in the House.
Let's assume this happens after the next election. What can we then expect?

More things like the PATRIOT act, an increase in the War on (some) Drugs, no change in the current enforcement of gun laws, budget increases for government schools, and additional campaign finance "reform."
And, thanks for asking.

Simply...... GOOD THINGS!
After the horrible reign of the clintonovs, this country needs some ADULT leadership. And, you can rest assured, that the Senate, under "little" Tommy DascHOLE, is suffering from a lack of "ADULT" supervision. Then again, that's a "no-brainer".
One thing that I hope and pray for, though. Trent "Vacant" Lott will NOT be the next Senate Majority Leader. Rather we'll have someone that has some "stones".

If that happens, it means that Chester "Vacant" Lott, the eunuch, will immediately open power-sharing negotiations with Tom Daschle.
See why I'm a Libertarian?

No, no, no ... with great ceremony, Trent "Traitor" Lott resigns his post & Don Nichols assumes role as Majority Leader, whereupon he (Nichols) quickly joins with Daschole in a new power sharing agreement. The fact I can laugh & cry about that is why I'm a Republican ;)

Maybe an Amendment establishing Christianity as the official state religion, with the 10 commandments up in EVERY building. 7 day creation account ONLY taught in the schools. Cameras in every room or every house linked to the police station to make sure no body is doing any drugs other than those sanctioned by the state (alcohol and tobacco) and to make sure that no one is engaging in homsexual behavior or premarital sex and to make sure those heterosexual MARRIED couples are having sex ONLY missionary, on the bed, with the lights out. What else . . .

Are we supposed to laugh or something............
LAME

I thought it was funny. You can laugh too if you want.

This country's journey to hell will slow from 60 mph to 50 mph.

If I said it to mock Libertarians view it would be very funny. But a Libertarian saying it......LAME

That's kind of what I thought :-)

The two-party cartel is a sham, and the only reason I'd enjoy the Republicans' controlling the Senate again is to laugh at all the excuses that will be offered up for the GOP's malfeasance. If you have a doctor who is incompetent, and his colleagues ignore or excuse his incompetence, then they are complicit in the harm that follows. Same thing with so-called "leader" Trent sans balls Lott. One shouldn't attribute to malice what can be explained by incompetence, but come on....

I would think the Libertarians best chance would be to help get all republicans in, then point out that it is no different, that way they might break that 1% barrier.

The first part of your response I highly doubt with the secular "leadership" in America today. IT's a shame. On the other hand, cameras in the schools, I wouldn't doubt. Big brother is putting cameras up all over the place. Nearly every inch of highway in Atlanta now has a camera. They say it's to monitor traffic, but why do you need a camera every two tenths of a mile? What about cameras that are now starting to show up in redlights, public places, etc.?

I agree. It's a sham.

If the Repub's cannot get elected on their own, what does that tell you? If our 1% is so insignificant why do I keep hearing conservatives trying to talk Libertarians into voting Republican. Hmmmmmmmm?
