Just how out of touch with America is the Hollywood left? Janet Reno's gubernatorial campaign is bombing in Florida, but she's a hit in Tinseltown.

"She was amazingly popular," casting director Brennan DuFresne gushed to the Palm Beach Post after bringing the controversial former Clinton attorney general to Elton John's post-Oscar party. "Everyone wanted to shake her hand."

"Everyone" may have included such guests as Clinton idolator Kevin Spacey, Gore campaigner Jon Bon Jovi, Denzel Washington, Sissy Spacek, Daryl Hannah, Paul McCartney and Bob Dylan.

"I felt like an ugly duck out of water," she told Jay Leno later on "The Tonight Show." Leno said that when he saw footage of the 6-foot-2 Reno fainting recently, she "looked like a tree coming down."

Meanwhile, in Florida, the powerful AFL-CIO this week was yet the latest pro-Democrat union to endorse one of Reno's obscure challengers vying for the nomination to oppose popular Gov. Jeb Bush.

Reno murdered innocent men, women and children. She kidnapped Elian away from his family and sent him to Castro. She lied and protected one of the most criminally minded politician in the history of the nation -- Bill Clinton. Yeah, Leno, she's a really funny broad, isn't she?

I was commenting to my husband the other day. If they had the McCarthy Hearing's today. There would be maybe three actor's left in Hollywood, then I thought to myself.....I'll be fair, There would be at least five still around.

Well, as the comedians would say of a popular comic, "Oh, she killed, man, she killed!"

I don't know that that is true necessarily. Yeah, I've heard the stories, but Foster's never outed herself, and Reno was asked directly and replied -- I think truthfully, I was watching her answer closely -- that she has always been awkward and shy around men. I could see her as a senior bachelorette and not necessarily by choice.

No offense, but I don't buy that. I don't know of any reason that a died in the wool Republican would gush over that Sasquatch. There is a difference in an actor not crowing about his/her conservative views and there is a difference in showing up at something like this. If she is a Republican, shame on her.
