I am not an Israel firster, I am just not in support of terroist organizations or states.

So call me a Palestinian laster if you want. But I am 100% American and 100% for America before anything else. Unfortunately your writings reveal you are an Israel laster. That is your choice to suffer.

Ok Folks, I don't want to discount legitimate concerns.
I am as mad at this as anyone. I think that Bush has
been way to soft on Arafat...
But, lets remember that the primary goal of Terror
is to, well create Terror. Rumors about attacks are
just that, and when we spread unsubstantiated rumors
we run the risk of helping them to acheive their goals.
Of course we should not stick our heads in the sand, but
lets consider a lot of these attack rumors could be disinformation.

DentsRun: Don't blame America. It's a two-way street. America pressures Israel. Israel pressures America.

monday: Hmmmmm.... examples please? I really don't see Israel as being in a position to pressure America. Lobby yes, but if Israel told America to go take a hike, that could not be termed pressure, as if the reverse were true that would be lots of pressure.

Remember when Bush Senior tried to tie $10 billion in loan guarantees to a building ban in the occupied territories. AIPAC put 1000 lobbyists on the street the next day to pressure congress. Bush caved but it was too late. The Israel lobby came down hard for Clinton, who won going away. That's a lesson that no one in the Bush family will ever forget, including our boy dubya.

As for American pressure on Israel, it largely consists mere words, announcing at a press conference that one thing or another "isn't helpful." Real pressure isn't mere words. It's the ability to throw someone out of office.

As far as the U.S. abandoning Israel, it's never going to happen and that's true even though it's not clear at this point that Israel needs our help anyway, given that it has neutron bombs, missiles, F-16s and the world's fourth largest army. The Arabs have diddlysquat and they turn and run when anyone says boo.

"If a word from an American president would make a suicide bomber get off the bus, go home and take off his bomb belt I'm sure Bush would do that. "

Appeasing terrorists make them bolder. Everytime Bush or Powell or the EU condemn Israel for defending itself, the Palistinians step up the killing in hopes of provoking an even more violent reaction from Israel, and stronger condemnation from the west.

The terrorists see this a propaganda victory, never mind if Palistinian civilians are inadvertantly killed, in fact they see this as a plus in their propaganda campaign.

If the US and the EU would back Israel in its self defense, then the Palistinians would lose much of the propaganda value of their terror. Why continue to do something, (kill) when there is not discernable value? A simple concept, but one that seems lost on the leaders of the moment.

I've been watching it live from Jerusalem, jerk. Rumors don't come wrapped in shrouds being loaded into ambulances.

And start remembering your own American heritage...

From the guy who called Bush 'the First Chimp' and questions our war on terrorism.

Why don't YOU forget about Israel?

Oh yeah...you'd have nothing to 'write' (rant) about if you did....

"If these people supported the violence that some say they do, we'd have bombings every day."

There is a big difference between supporting and doing. Usually only young men do, but that doesn't mean everyone else in the family is not 100% behind him.

BTW, I am not suggesting we over react, but we do need to be aware, and stop pretending that if we ignore these people they will leave us alone. They won't.

I think the sucide bombings are directed at Israeli morale, not world opinion. If Arafat really wanted to court world opinion, he'd adopt a Ghandi-like posture of non-violent resistance. Of course it would never happen, Arafat being too much of a bloody corrupt fool to demonstrate such vision.

Both, I think. It doesn't hurt that so many Israelis have joined the peace movement. The Palistinians sence victory and are stepping up the violence because they think it is working. Suicide for the nation of Israel to capitulate, but that is what many Israelis want. Oh well, it is their country.
