Fox was on last night refusing to call them "illegal"

Yeah ... well when you climb over, crawl under, or cut your way thru a fence at the border, or get smuggled into the US some other way ... you're illegal. If you enter the US with a valid visa and overstay the time permitted ... you're illegal. Of course illegal aliens know that if they wait around a few years some liberal leaning US president will come along and grant them amnesty ... usually a democrat is the culprit ... doing it for potential votes. The fact a republican president is doing it makes amnesty for illegal aliens that much more reprehensible. Bush has lost my vote in 2004 ... and, of course, any contributions I might have made to the republicans.

President Bush knows there is an election coming up. And he understands that the maximum potential votes come from the middle of the political bell curve. He needs to stay in a somewhat centrist position so as to diffuse any political momentum from the left. The question is, is this his true position...or is this just political expediency?

I hate political expediency. GWB won because middle of the road voters preferred someone who was a little too conservative to someone who was a little to liberal for their taste (opinion).

Since GWB signed the bill, I want him to articulate why. And to win an election is not a reason to sign a bill, assuming it's a bad bill as so many freepers think.

And, what I REALLY, REALLYwant him to do is close the border with Mexico after Vincente Fox's obscene defense of "migration" into the US!
