Between 1796 and 1815 the Russians considered the French as heathens At which point the rest of the world caught on and agreed with the Russians.

Between 1796 and 1815 the Russians considered the French as heathens, having executed their King anointed by God, and their revolutionary toleration of atheism and heretical religions.
Not much has changed since then apparently.

Do you know if they're going to resurrect any of the traditional regiments (Preobrazhensky Guard, etc.) that were the heart of the Tsar's army?

I think it's a mistake for anyone to swallow the lie of a Holy War.
I've heard others say that religion has been the cause of many wars. Then and now I ask "Who has Christ ever asked us to kill?"
We win people over to Christ by witnessing His Love for us and the Freedom that offers, not by shoving a sword in someones gut.
I agree with You on the French being heathens then, the scary thing is America is in the same shape as France before their Revolution.
As much as paganism, special interests and ignorance has separated American's I'm not sure we would be able to hold America together, through a revolution. Which would leave the elites in total control (dictatorwise).....

At which point is it a Christian's duty to fight against evil? Is it more evil to kill or more evil to stand by and watch innocents destroyed just so you can say that you didn't have to commit the evil of killing. Will the blood of these innocents then not be on your head since you did not raise your sword in their protection?

The Russian muzhik did not fail his country during the Patriotic War, and will not fail the Rodina now. The Jihadists fail to understand the connection between the Russian and the land. They will learn. It was the Russian soldier that buried the Wehrmacht.
Be Seeing You,

I'm saying a tyrant using religion as an excuse for war for more gains, has nothing to do with religion.
And that any war labeled Christian is a lie, Christ never asked any of us to kill in His Name.
Now an innocent people being attacked that can't defend themselves would be worthy. I never said I wouldn't kill in selfdefense.
But education is a much better way of achieving change and peace.
