The only thing that I have to say is, "God bless the Polish." Remember folks, the Polish love the U.S. and they are particularly fond of the Bush family. The Polish are a remarkable group of freedom-living people; this comes as no surpise to me. Again, "God bless the Polish."

Another thing people forget about Poland...They were able to stop the Bolsheviks at the 'Miracle on the Vistula' in 1920, perhaps stopping the Communist advance into western Europe, since the Bolsheviks considered Poland the stepping stone into Germany and then France. The 20th Century may have looked very different indeed.

The west owes a lot to Poland. And now it is being shaken down in a Jesse Jackson type operation. This is sickening.

Good for Poland. Instead of telling Polish jokes I will substitute people from another more anti american country.

You could always talk about stories of French bravery in combat......

Oh wait ... you want something other than silence to add to a conversation.

For that matter, the Germans have generally moaned and groaned but given us the help we need. I believe they've had casualties, or a casualty, in Afghanistan.

So I guess you think the French were never brave...So just how do you think France defeated Austria, Prussia, captured Moscow etc. under Napoleon? What about the 1.5 million dead Fenchman who died in W.W. I.? What about the battle of Verdun, or the Marne?

Never said that. They did well until post-WW1. Must have been the mustard gas that sucked the backbone right out of the French after all that.

frenchie military victories since WW1 have been pretty pathetic ... Vichy france, den bien phu, algeria ... really good track record there.

In Viet Nam the French pulled out because the going got rough and they didn't feel it was important enough to stay and hoof it out. That is also the logic America had. In Algeria it was the same thing. National survival was not at stake.

After the carnage of W.W.I, the French became more averse to war. You're probably right about that.

In W.W. II, the French (like everybody else) was expecting a repeat of German tactics from W.W.I. They were prepared for that kind of conflict but the Germans had a new type of warfare in mind. This took the French, and much of the rest of the world, by suprise. Remember also that Poland was effectively defeated by the Germans in 19 days while France was also defeated in a realtively short time, six weeks.

"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but you are one dumb Polock"

If I could figure out how to play sound I would insert the WAV file instead of the quote.

Only liberals are meatheads. My other favorite Polish quote from Archie is " Why don't you take a flying jump right in to the middle of Lake Polock"
