Good for Poland. Instead of telling Polish jokes I will substitute people from another more anti american country.

I don't know, what do you think, maybe we ought to consider forming aliances with the countries that support us instead of with the countries that don't?!

Finally, a european president with a backbone.

Truly, the term "Europe" is overbroad. When describing "criticism" of the U.S., it should not be painted with the broad term "European", but "French" or "German." or Whatever. Most european "countries" are supportive of the war, and in fact, seem to want to join in. Indeed, if we go to war with Iraq, we should include detachments from all the Eastern European countries, to snub France's nose.

Polish groups also stood up when a Spanish socialist judge tried to throw Pinochet in prison. The Poles know first hand what he prevented.

Now I feel bad for laughing at all of those Polish jokes made by Archie Bunker. God Bless Poland.

Why are we still in NATO?
To continue to protect Western Europe from Communist Russia?

Something tells me that President Aleksander Kwasniewski remembers what another group of terrorists masquerading as Germans did to his country once upon a time...
Thank you President Kwasniewski, for having the guts to be our friend!

Well, since 1776, overall, Poland (in terms of its citizens, the Soviet puppet government is an obvious exception) has generally been the most uniformly pro-American country in the entire world. Of course, for much of that time, Poland wasn't an independent country. Plenty of Poles came over and died fighting for US independence...and they were idealists, unlike a majority of the French, who, other than Lafayette, were merely fighting here to embarass the British.

Truly, the term "Europe" is overbroad Excellent post. Indeed this is overlooked. Britain and Italy, and even Spain have been far more cooperative with us than the "evil axis" of Europe, France and Germany. The French, pucilanimous masters of appeasement, for whom thousands of Americans were sacrificied for their spinelessness in WWII, is going to tell us how to prosecute the war on terrorism. And the same pair that teamed up to bring you the Holocaust is now dictating to Israel the terms of its own annihilation. How fitting.

The Poles know plenty about terror from Nazis and the Soviets...
Remarkably, they (along with Pope John Paul and Ronald Reagan)were the first to challenge the Iron Curtain, which led finally to their their independence.

The Fourth Republic? French Films? Woody Allen? (oops...I forgot)

Now I feel bad for laughing at all of those Polish jokes made by Archie Bunker. I was thinking of that crusty old inspector on the Barny Miller show who told Polock jokes around Polish Sgt. Wojo, but followed them up by explaining how he had great respect for the "Polockish" people.

The gift of Enigma replicas from Poland, a loyal ally, saved millions of lives during the War. July 24, 1939 is the day to be remembered forever. Cryptoanalysts and heads of the Intelligence Services from France and Great Britain arrived in Pyry, near Warsaw, to receive the Enigma replicas along with all the cryptoanalyst information Poland gathered. Without that, it would take an extra 2 to 3 years to break the Enigma Code. By then, Hitler would be in London.. .

Hail to Poland and to principle!
