Truly, the term "Europe" is overbroad. When describing "criticism" of the U.S., it should not be painted with the broad term "European", but "French" or "German." or Whatever. Most european "countries" are supportive of the war, and in fact, seem to want to join in. Indeed, if we go to war with Iraq, we should include detachments from all the Eastern European countries, to snub France's nose.

Excellent post. Indeed this is overlooked. Britain and Italy, and even Spain have been far more cooperative with us than the "evil axis" of Europe, France and Germany. The French, pucilanimous masters of appeasement, for whom thousands of Americans were sacrificied for their spinelessness in WWII, is going to tell us how to prosecute the war on terrorism. And the same pair that teamed up to bring you the Holocaust is now dictating to Israel the terms of its own annihilation. How fitting.

For that matter, the Germans have generally moaned and groaned but given us the help we need. I believe they've had casualties, or a casualty, in Afghanistan.
