ELF and ALF were in the forefront of the very far leftist types that demonstrated in NYC on 3 February. I fully expect them to have a major presence in the upcoming April 20th event in Washington, D. C.
This is why we need to stand up against the Left.

"Rodney Adam Coronado pleaded guilty to setting fire to an animal-research laboratory at Michigan State University, an attack for which ALF claimed credit. Sentenced to 57 months in prison and ordered to pay restitution of $2 million, he has since been released."How many months did he actually serve - if any?
How much of the $2 million restitution did he pay - if any?
And what kind of message do you suppose these lenient sentences send?

Gee, when they get done with these groups, maybe they can go after the EPA, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, etc. that are enforcing extreme provisions on private property.
Get this: From the Bay City (Michigan) Times: the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is taking a man to court for cleaning up his Saginaw Bay shore. What used to be a beach is now turning into a swamp because of the declining water levels.
So, the Corps wants him to stop plowing the swamp back into the water, and they want a district court to fine him $25,000 a day - going back to June. That, for those without a calculator, amounts to a $7.5 million dollar fine! Thier reason? Well, according to William E. Leiteritz, physical scientist with the Corps, "These coastal wetlands are among the most biologically diverse and important wetlands in the world ..." The World?
Maybe we could redefine the role of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This kind of heavy-handedness belongs on our borders. If they had been there, perhaps the twin towers would still be standing.

"To make communications among law enforcement easier, Rep. Darlene Hooley, Oregon Democrat, has proposed a bill that would create a national clearinghouse on ecoterrorism and bulk up federal assistance at the local level."Oh, Good! Another federal bureaucracy!

"On the one hand, the al Qaeda is killing and maiming thousands of people. On the other hand, the people of the ALF are rescuing and saving lives," Mr. Barbarash said. "There are strict guidelines we do destroy property, but not lives." Well, there ya go. That makes all the difference in the world, doesn't it.
Idiots.

After all, the general public tended to support their broad goals: They were in favor of a clean environment and against cruelty to animalsFWIW, so was Adolph Hitler. The Nazis were the first political party in the world to make environmental concerns a centerpiece of their program. (He was also an anti-smoker.)
Obviously, these facts do not of themselves invalidate others who hold these positions. But, by exactly the same logic, holding these popular opinions does not mean that everyone who supports these positions is a wonderful person.

"...We need to take away the Robin Hood mystique from these terrorists, which is what they are." More than that, we need to tell the truth to students in our pubic screwels: The environment is not threatened by the actions of men; it's too big to even notice us!

So true - these thugs are some of the most vile Leftists in the country.

If you go to Burger King and buy one of the new Peta Veggie Burgers, you will be contributing to eco terrorism via PETA:
(Burger King Caves in to Peta and sells their veggie burgers)Go to this site to see how many people who claim to be conservative because of their religion of vegetarism will have zero problem ordering and eating the Peta Veggie Burger.

we do destroy property, but not lives.Only these simplistic narcissists couldn't see a connection between destruction of property and the lives of the property owners.
How about every time we see a car with an eco-weenie bumper sticker, we just take the car? What with their aversion to property rights, I'm sure they wouldn't mind. In fact, we'd be doing them a favor, relieving them of the burden of ownership. Make 'em purer, dontcha know.

You can look at the right wing at the abortion-doctor killings, at the Olympic Park bombing these are attacks that should be considered terrorism. Agreed. And so are the acts of ALF/ELF.
To: sauropod
The Media likes to harp on "right wing" terrorists who bomb abortion clinics. When was the last time an abortuary was bombed? How often does it happen? Once every 10 years?
Left wing terrorists bomb on a weekly basis in the USA, but we hardly hear about it, and when one does hear about them, they are never called "left wing".

Congress is considering legislation that would, among other things, place ecoterrorists under the racketeering act.
POD, FINALLY!! Thanks for the post! Peace and love, George.

"I have to ask, 'Where's the suffering?'" Mr. Barbarash said. How about the loss of jobs for starters and a business that had contributed to the city with taxes as well as service to the public.
The Pond Foundation and the Helen Brach Foundation are directly and indirectly part of United Nations Agencies. If anyone can find out if either of these foundations benefit from U. S. Government Grants however circuitously given them, please let us know.
PETA should be outlawed for any number of reasons. "Mainstream environmental groups like the Wilderness Society and Sierra Club have condemned the ecoterrorists' tactics." These folks are also, whether they know it or not, playing right into the hands of the eco-terrorists. Elf, ALF and PETA must be destroyed by giving members caught doing their domestic terrorist acts, a minimum of ten years in prison...no if and or buts. People belonging to these organizations should be required to have their names published and the moneys given, published for all to see with who gave what and if they encourage minors to help them, this is child abuse, prosecutable in a court of law. Find out if your congressman/woman or senators have pandered in anyway to any of these groups for Al Gore type votes.

Thanks for the ping. I read this in the Washington Times this morning. It's about time that ALF and ELF and others like them are properly described -- eco-terrorists. They attack and destroy and don't worry about the consequences. They must be held accountable for their actions and the punishment must be severe to discourage further acts of violence and terrorism.
