I work in a prison in England. Having seen what I see on a daily basis, I can find little fault with Sheriff Joe Arpaio's running of his jails.

This posting is not driven by any malice towards those that are incarcerated, but based on my own experiences and studies.

The prisons over here are no deterrent and frequently offer luxuries that many law abiding citizens have to do without. Consequently, there is no incentive to modify behaviour.

I applaud Sheriff Joe.
