I love this crap!! It's like watching Miss America...an American tradition! The gowns are gorgeous this year...of course, I haven't seen the swan dress singer from Iceland, or Cher. Where's Madonna? Where's Babba Streisand? Maybe the sordid trash types are in mourning.
Too bad Billy Crystal isn't hosting, but maybe Whoopie will tone herself down a bit this year.
And Halle Berry's dress is the prettiest one I saw.

To: xp38
Who'da thunk I'd be missing whoopie already? Yank this clown off the stage!!!!
To: habs4ever
Tom Cruise looks like a he smeared red mud in his hair.
To: sweetliberty
Oh, Tom. That's what Sept 11 was all about - a new source of introspective (SELF!) angst for serious actors.
To: SassyMom
Gag. Can Tom Cruise be any more self-congratulatory about actors. Kumbaya Tom.
To: SassyMom
LOLOLOL!!! He should visit Tim McGraw's guy!
To: BigWaveBetty
Did the announcer say the Oscars were being presented from Hollywood & Highland? Things must have changed since I was there. The last time I visited Hollywood and Highland the smell of stale urine wafted in the breeze and the bums (oops, homeless people) abounded on the street. They must have fixed up that area.

Yuck. That speech by Cruise was hokey even by Hollywood standards. The writer ought to be buried.

Tom Hanks doesn't have a sincere bone in his body. On the Bawa Walters special he said "I just want to help people". Good - start by donating a few million and get back together with your wife and drop the Scientology crap.

Oh yeah, we'd all dry up and blow away without movies, sheesh!
To: Miss Marple
Nice that Tom Cruise is acknowledging Sept 11, a serious start to a frivolous evening of self-congratulatory attaboys...it's all right....
Hey!!! Movies are belong to us!!!
