Good for him. Saw a bit today on Russel, it said that they broke up because he was in hollywood, she in Austrailia. They just drifted apart.
HLL, I knew you'd love the pearls. Overall she looks great, less is more.
To: Texaggie79
Hey, you might hit 50 posts on your thread tonight. Congratulations.

I thought I heard Patton --
I didn't expect LOR to win this one. The music was a bit over-the-top I thought in the movie. It could have been more subtle considering the captivating storyline. It didn't need the music to push it along and be distracting. A lot of movies do need this.

Gussy, you ol' troll. Crawl back into the hovel you came out of, or pull up a chair and watch the freak show. You don't seem to be able to stay away anyway.
Actually I simply made a comment agreeing w/one of the original posts and a few guilt-ridden celebrity worshipers decided to jump on me with your guilt. Hey if that's your bag, go ahead, but my opinion still stands, in spite of your name-calling. I don't and won't support those socialist pigs in hollywood. That obviously bothers you greatly - so be it.

MIDI - HOORAY FOR HOLLYWOOD
They suck in Hollywood
the leftist pinko scum in Hollywood
Theyre really proud that they destroyed our culture
each money vulture
Laughs as he goes to the bank
They give opinions to all their minions
Who believe them when its the fans they thank
They suck in Hollywood
theyre so political in Hollywood
They claim compassion that is very phony
its all baloney
They covet each others wives
Its T & A theyre grabbing
into backs theyre stabbing
They lead such scandalous lives
They suck in Hollywood
weve really heard enough from Hollywood
They play a role and then theyre testifying
but whos relying
On what these airheads will say
Theyre merely acting and fan attracting
Why do people give them the time of day?
They suck in Hollywood
how many breasts are real in Hollywood?
Its for our planet that they say theyre caring
theres no ride sharing
Theyre in their own limousine
And as I watch them fake it...I'll no longer take it
Theyre reading lines in a scene

Glad to hear Williams included "The Magnificent Seven" - the definitive western theme. Yes it is, even though it was written by leonard Bernstein, the definitive Limosine Liberal

Yes, Shore did a fine job. I liked the score and Enya's two songs so much that I bought the soundtrack. I've been playing it on my computer repeatedly ever since Christmas. I find it very soothing and original. He deserved the Oscar over Mr. Williams who does tend to repeat himself in his soundtracks.

She was OK in 'Ghost' and marginal in 'Sister Act', but she has chosen some terrible parts.
To: rintense
Uck. Whoopi and in fact that whole mess of a movie, "The Color Purple" hit a low point for all involved. I mean, do you know anyone who has watched it more than once besides Oprah-addicts? Her career high point has to be Ghost and as the alien in Star Trek.

I haven't seen Moulin Rouge but I do anticipate seeing it. Coming late to the thread, I'm risking you're already having 2,000 "stay away!" replies, but put mine on the pile as well.
Moulin Rouge is best described as a watery turd. I lasted all of 45 minutes before walking out of the theater. I've only done that three times in my life and I average a movie a week in theaters.
It's bad. Horrible. Nasty. Unwatchable.

hey I'm a Viking too.

I have just about worn out the soundtrack to "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" The music of the Sirens is incredible, and you can't get that sort of music on your average Top 40 radio station any more.
To: rbmillerjr
May I call you Thor? :)
To: Servant of the Nine
Leonard Bernstein. He is scum. Dennis Prager talks about how he proudly hosted murdering Black Panthers at posh parties as if they were heroes.
To: Servant of the Nine
I've been a Sidney Portier fan since I was 8 years old.
To: GussiedUp
Oh woof woof.
To: jhofmann
"Sidney Poitier is not an African-American treasure, he's an American treasure." Well put, Halle.
