Any twenty minutes of it makes me have this desire to start slaughtering Dims...
"THE BLUE LAGOON " was a Victorian novel, and NOT written by one of the Fabians, nor a Marxist of any stripe. The first movie, most assuredly was NOT left leaning, and I fail to see what was , in the remake. It is; however, a representative to that genre; it's a Victorian / Edwardian mindset, that like the GOTHIC novels, of their day, was a set piece and written as pop culture.

Actually the writer (Howard Fast) was a communist, at least when he wrote it. But don't knock it, I love it when the villain (Laurence Olivier as Crassus) wants to point to a really bad guy, he points to the late Lucius Cornelius Sulla!
