Like your poem.

The sad thing is, the creeps in Hollywood (or "Holywood" to the masses) are the heros and heroines of our society. Next to sports heros, it's they that "we" spend our time and money on. I know of very few people who don't anxiously await the next Flick or spend their days and nights glued to the TV.

My financee recently asked me "If you could have been born at any time you wanted to be, when and where would it be." My reply----late 1800's, before TV and movies---and in NYC or a metro area, for the culture. Assuming, of course, that I would also be a person with some wealth.

But I'm guilty too. We rarely watch anything on TV but news and news-type talk shows (Not the daytime garbage!) But we do rent movies---especially those with Ed Norton who usually plays a psycho of some sort. Guess it helps to think that there are those worse off!!!

Speaking of New York in the 1800s, have you read Jack Finney's book Time and Again?
