(AgapePress) - The Academy Awards will be presented on Sunday night -- and pro-family activists are warning of another influx of the anti-family, leftist, socialist agenda.
When the Oscars are handed out Sunday night, expect a flood of politics as well. Clay Rossi of the Free Congress Foundation says Hollywood's politics are always on display on Academy Award night. "The politics of the Oscars every year is the politics of the left," he says.
Rossi points to the fact that Ian McKellen is one of the major nominees for Best Actor. McKellen portrayed Gandalf the Grey, the old wizard in Lord of the Rings -- which is nominated for Best Picture. "Mr. McKellen is a fine actor," Rossi says, "but he is also probably one of the most militant advocates [of homosexuality] in the Hollywood community."
McKellen boasts of his practice of ripping apart Gideon Bibles because of the condemnation of homosexuality found in the Scriptures.
Rossi says another leftist activist is emcee Whoopi Goldberg. He says The New York Post has voiced its concern over her hosting role. "Traditionally, Ms. Goldberg will attack religion, traditional values, and conservative politicians in her humor," he says. "However, the Post was pleading with her, in her comments for this Oscar ceremony, that they thought it would be in very poor taste."
Ironically, Goldberg was recently honored with the Grace Prize for Film by the Christian Film & Television Commission for her role in Kingdom Come. According to that organization, the Grace Prizes are given to actors who, through their performance, best exemplify "Gods grace and mercy toward us as human beings."
Peter LaBarbera of the Culture and Family Institute agrees with Rossi, saying the Oscars ceremony will be a stage for anti-family activism -- and warning the public to be ready for the usual promotion of homosexuality.
"I don't know if we'll see as much homosexual propaganda as we usually do, but we can rest assured that we'll see some," LaBarbera says. "In the last couple of weeks, we have been flooded with homosexual images from Hollywood almost like never before. It's just non-stop ... these days."
Among what LaBarbera calls the "deluge" of homosexual advocacy coming from Hollywood lately are the Rosie O'Donnell "coming out" party, two specials on Matthew Shepherd's beating death, MTV's homosexual programming, and the usual sitcoms with pro-homosexual characters. He predicts the anti-family, pro-homosexual messages will continue to flow from Hollywood until people become disgusted with it and turn off televisions and quit going to the movies.
Issues Clouded
With Oscar night expected to be a big night for the politically liberal, Bob Knight of the Culture and Family Institute says many issues are being clouded today by the type of coverage found in the media. He points out this is particularly true when it comes to moral issues.
"I have found that media bias has now become 'media cover-up'," Knight says. "Most mainstream media will not give the facts you need to make a reasonable assumption about any given issue, particularly the homosexual issue. I find all the time that things are grossly misrepresented. One of them is that they estimate at times from six million to fourteen million children are being raised by homosexuals."
He says given that homosexuals comprise only one or two percent of the population, this would been every homosexual in the nation would have to be raising three or four children -- which he says is an "absurd proposition."
Other conservative leaders decry misrepresentation of the facts on issues such as abortion, the cloning issue, the entertainment industry's impact on violence, and the attack on the traditional family structure.
I'm trying to figure out how to keep the homosexual agenda out of my kids public school.

"We who spend all our time pretending to be other people will come together and judge who has been the most authentic phony this year."
Sorry, there's some grass I need to watch grow.
It is highly unlikely that you or any parents can change the NEA agenda within the public school. The only real option that you or other parents have is to remove your children from these schools. If enough parents do this the monopoly could be broken.
Godspeed, The Dilg
Here are my predictions:
Best Actor: It won't go to Russell Crowe. Here's why; Americans are too patriotic right now to give an Aussie two in a row and place him in the same category as Spencer Tracy and Tom Hanks. Best actor will go to Tom Wilkinson for In the Bedroom. Underdog will be Denzel Washington.
Best Actress: Easy. Nicole Kidman for Moulin Rouge. She's earned it. And she has the sympathy vote to beat ex-hubby out for an Oscar --Tom hasn't won one yet! Underdog will be Sissy Spacek for In the Bedroom. She's won before (Coal Miner's Daughter) but she is an excellent actress.
Best Supporting Actor: Sir Ian McKellan, Lord of the Rings. Hollywood will get pillaged if it does not honor this fine film for at least one major Oscar. LotR Has many fans. My money's on Ian. Underdog will be Ethan Hawke for Training Day. He's a good actor. He was excellent in Alive about the South American rugby plane-crash.
Best Supporting Actress: If Jennifer Connelly doesn't walk away with this one it will be one of the greatest upsets in Oscar history. Underdog None.
Best Picture: A Beautiful Mind. Here's why: Ron Howard has made a fortune for Hollywood. Practically every one of his films makes bank --yet Hollywood has not honored him. Look for his bald head to be thanking everyone from Potzie to LaVern while he holds a little gold man in his hand. Underdog Moulin Rouge. No chance whatsoever: Gosford Park. Robert Altman has been too bitter towards America to capture a worthwhile number of votes. He'll get the (well deserved) middle finger because of this.
See ya' Sunday!
Cheers!
Drew.
Something must be in the FR water.
I "hate myself" because I like great movies and the culmination of the cinematic year?
You need to relax, take in a movie or something.
Behind all the crap is lots of great films every year.
And the Oscars are cool.
