I see these young men and woman - willing to inflict casualties by committing suicide, and I see a dangerous and determined enemy - an enemy that should be taken seriously and dispatched with brutal finality.
An enemy whose mind is fixed on winning - where winning means killing your enemy.

This is NOT an enemy that will cease killing the objects of their hatred (Jews and other non-muslims)through negotiation or being given a homeland. They will rest, train, rearm and attack again and again and again.

This type enemy is not defeated via negotiation or compromise... they will continue to press toward the extinction of their enemies.. This is NOT a war over land....this is their war against Western Civilization and non-muslims - worldwide.

This type enemy - radical fundementalist Jihadist - is defeated ONLY when unacceptably huge numbers are killed, their homeland turned into ashes and their families huddled by campfires whispering about the devastation brought to them by the avenging Americans... Terrorists must be terrorized until they have been killed...

From another old grunt, I fear for our inability to kill the enemy with ferocity and in large numbers. Our leaders are too concerned about public opinion and seem unwilling to deliver a decisive death blow to those who would kill us in an instant if they could, and without remorse.

You've reached just about the same conclusion as some military intelligence
poobah that wrote a book titled "NetWars". (Sorry, can't remember his name).
He said that basically that when Russia reached the same conclusion after their first
dust-up with the Chechens, the Russians started winning by being even more ruthless than
the Chechens.

This isn't the sort of philosophy that civilized Americans/Europeans like...
but with Al-Quida, the only alternative is to sit in dumb disbelief as they
kill even thousands more of your fellow citizens.

That's why I am heartened with each new report of fresh kills of Al-Quida/Taliban.
I just pray they'd gather in a larger concentrated mass so that a few Daisy Cutters
would be all that was needed to finish the job.

(Normally I'm a peaceful guy...9-11 changed that a bit.)
