Hmmm, I suspect that this is a urban legend as Bob Keeshan wasn't born until June 1927. Putting his age to be barely 18 by 1945.
But Lee Marvin was a WWII vet.

It is an urban legend - check snopes.com
However my dad was born in 1925 and was in WWII - they're weren't as picky back then on age evidently.
