Even if you take pregnancy out of the mix, the downside for women is much greater. One of the biggest dangers IMO is that a woman in her early 20's has a huge relative advantage over a guy in his early 20's because older guys are hitting on them too. But after 25, a woman's bargaining strength realative to men her age starts going downhill very quickly as those older guys are looking for the new flavor of the week. By 28, if she hasn't recognized this fact and married a good man or nurtured very good career for herself, then she is in serious trouble.

The problem is that people tend to stick with a "good" thing. A guy can afford to party well into his 30's, but a woman really can't. That is the problem with shows like "Sex in the City"; girls see this stuff and think they can have it all, and then at age 37 marry the guy of their dreams.

Eventually, the technology will be out there to keep women as young and fertile as a 20 y.o. well into their 40's. This will be a net plus for everyone, but until then, mothers need to teach their daughters to always take the long view.

I agree...Women do not have the same time to make concrete life choices as men. Early 30s at the latest...pregnancy after age 35 for a woman becomes roughly 4 fold more difficult than at say 20-25. My wife is 7 years younger than me and we are both living proof of a marriage where she is reaching the last decade of fertility and I'm....well I'm middle-aged. 36 and 44 repsectively.

The Femi-Nazis wish to ignore reality but wishing reality away and it going away are not the same thing.

Of course an attractive classy woman will always attract men even as she ages....it's just that if she's looking for security or children then the men will tend to be older.

I like women of all ages but from experience I've learned I prefer at my current age the fact that my wife is still youngish..yet grown up (more than me in some ways)..it's just a nice dividend...call me a pig!..LOL

My great grandfather outlived 3 wives and had 22 children...some well into his 70s....my hero.

Seriously at 44, this current little wonder in the oven will be the last planned.
