Yes, it's a vanity...sorta, but I really MUST find the source for a song Jim Quinn played on WRRK-FM Pittsburgh this morning.
The song is a tribute to Todd Beamer from Flight 93, and is titled "She Didn't Know She Kissed a Hero". Through the first couple of measures I was not impressed because the quality was poor and there you could tell it wasn't professionally produced.
A few more seconds and something...the melody...the words..caught my attention. By the time the song was half over this tough, old conservative had to pull the van over because I was tearing over too much to drive home from work.
Quinn didn't mention the name of the singer only to say it wasn't done by a major artist, and that he didn't think a recording label had picked it up.
The song was capitvating, the girl singing about how Todd Beamer left for work that morning and kissed his wife good-bye, he or she not knowing it would be for the last time.
A few of the words that I remember go (something) like this...
She didn't know she kissed a hero
Even though he always was one in her eyes.
Putting others before you
That's what heros always do
And now he doesn't need wings to fly
I am so touched by this song, I can't type. I'll call Quinn later and try to find out more, but in the meantime I was hoping a FReeper might have heard the song nad post more about it here.
Any information would help. I did a Google and searched the archives here and couldn't find anything. This song is at least as good as the Fireman's song.
I don't care, I have to find this song, so I'm asking for FReeper help.

Go to google.om and type "kissed a hero" <-- use the quotes. You'll get lots of good threads to follow.
A Mind is a terrible thing
No truer words can ever said on behalf of Todd Beamer and all the heroes of 9-11. We will remember them always. Now let's roll!!!
The link works fine and now I can get the song.
Thanks again.
