It is not blanket amnesty that he is supporting. But I don't like any amnesty (except for a guest worker program). So no, I am not thrilled. But, it is not the end of the world either.

What amkes a lot of this worse is he doesn't even get something for it. The amnesty would be a bad idea in any case, but couldn't he at least have told Vicente Fox, we gave you your amnesty, now give us some oil? A barrel for each illegal Mexican.

Compromise is one thing, if it moves things in our direction. But this gives the liberals 75 percent of whqt they want and gives us nothing much in return.
