Let me get this right. Smoking marijuana in the house, getting tanked regularly, having sex with near strangers (with the risk of STDs), putting your kids at risk by being unable to protect them because you are high or hung over or not at home . . these are signs of loving and responsible parents? What a pile of CRAP.

Of course these are NOT a perfect couple. They appear to be SCUM...But even SCUM don't deserve to have their child abducted/murdered. If they did there would be millions of child murders every year.

NOBODY deserves to have their child abducted/murdered. However, when you have the kind of lifestyle these two did, you are more prone to having your child abducted/murdered. Therefore, they are, through their lifestyle, at least a little responsible for the death of their child.

There is no way to protect a child from everyting, but reducing the risks your child will face is an important part of parenting. If these two were not "swingers", their child would be alive today.

What if it turns out the parents were involved? I don't know that they were, but the possibility is there. I say, keep looking at them. Ask the questions. The most important question might be: Why are they lying to the police, the media and the court? (They were caught in lies to all these people.) With so much at stake, why would they be risking everything with these lies? What is so important that they would mislead everyone and interfere with the investigation? What are they hiding that is so important?

The actions or "sins" of the parents may well have contributed to the circumstances that resulted in the child being abducted and murdered. IMO, one should not necessarily separate the two. Also, I suspect that there is a continuing investigation going on behind the scenes. I think that this is far from over.

I'll second that one. Really, none of this other matters at all: I really don't care. What I *do* care about is who murdered their little girl and that there be clear and convincing evidence as to who did it, so the bastard can be executed. *That* is what is important here, not the habits of the parents (unless said habits are relevant to the case).

I feel much more sorry for the child than I do the parents. She was first let down by a couple of drunk, potheads, most likely passed out and couldn't hear her being abducted to her own murder.

I think it's a pretty fair bet that the child would not have been murdered had she had conscious, clear-headed parents in the home who concentrated on something other than their own carnal pleasure.

They should be charged with child neglect or whatever could be thrown at them. The remaining children should be permanently removed from their household which was obviously more pleasure palace than a home.

However, the bastard that took advange of the situation set up by these losers to murder that poor child should be given the needle.
