The reason I posted "No Big Deal" on this thread and other lay off threads posted by you in the past is as follows...

I posted a thread about a company laying off a large number of employees and pinged you for your awareness and thoughts. Your reply was, No Big Deal.

So I see that if I post a layoff thread the info is "no big deal" to you, but be damned if someone posts the same on one of your precious layoff threads.

"I can collect my pension, but I'm going to have to get a job to pay for my hospitalization. There's a lot of long faces in here,"

There's still a lot of smug attitude in those who are, temporarily at least, still employed by a company with reasonable benefits. The quote above shows reality facing a person who is now "retired".

I know one retired lady who is working full time just to pay her Medical Insurance and it keeps going up.

Those in the article above stayed with a company for 30+ years. There was a company near here that pulled the same moves as this one, with the change/difference of disolving the old company and starting as a new one in the same facility. Those with vested retirement were not retained. New hires were brought in because the material movement/logistics jobs were considered non-skilled. The New Company was a complete Disaster and within a year they had to revert to the original company, pay penalties due to the legal exposure brought out, and then rebuild. It's a sucessful distribution center again.

Look for a whirl of this type activity with the Amnesty deal going thru. The results will be the same.

It's corporate greed, that's what it is. They're making money here, but they want to make even more up the road.

It's not corporate greed, its competition. If some other company is more efficient, then you better increase efficiency or no one in the Company will have a job.

They don't care about the employees and their families

It's a job, not a government social welfare program.

Please post a link to this incident.
It'll be interesting to review what wise-@$$ remark you likely made when "pinging" me that prompted me to respond with "No Big Deal".

My mistake. Dane posted the article, I mearly pinged you. Here is the exchange...

In #11 i posted to you, "More job cuts. Thoughts?"

Your reply in #27 is as follows...

More job cuts. Thoughts?

No big deal.

I lost interest in the "sport" back when Bruno Samartino retired.

Here is a link to the thread...

World Wrestling Cuts Staff, President Out

Now, where is the "wise-@$$ remark" I made in my ping to you?

Actually, I had the integrity to explain why I thought it was "No Big Deal".

You asked for my thoughts, and I obliged.

For you to take offense at this and embark on some cryptic campaign of posting "No Big Deal" on various layoff threads that I initiate is truly adolescent. I seriously suggest that you seek professional help for your emotional inbalance.

I guess layoffs only matter if you have an interest in the company doing the layoffs. I have little to no interest in most of the companies you post layoff notices about.

Wether you have an interest in a company or not, the effect on those being laid off is the same, and I can assure you it is a big deal.

Well you can shed crocodile tears for the "professional" wrestlers if you want. Their primary impact on society has been to increase accidental injuries among adolescents who attempt to emulate their stunts in the backyard. IMHO, the workers in Belle Vernon are better role models and contributed more to society through their mundane, daily efforts in food distribution.

I wonder how many jobs have been created by wrestling. I'm thinking of concession vendors, maintenance workers, toy makers, magazine publishers, holders of merchandising licenses etc. Then there are the lawyers, accountants and financial advisors employed by the wrestlers/performers, and their bosses. Don't underestimate the economic impact of any sector of the economy just cause you may think there is something more noble in repetitive, low-skilled labor as compared to creative or entertainment activity (even if low brow).

Wrestlers were not laid off Willie. Staff was. But then again, your not interested in their product so the loss of their jobs is "No Big Deal."

But then again, your not interested in their product so

An extreme example of the "non-value-added" service sector.
