If you look at how Lady Macbeth (Clinton) treated Tipper in her last fake book (two very unflattering photos of Tipper), then you must conclude that it will never happen for Mrs. Gore. Lady Macbeth never forgives, never forgets. AlBore told off her husband, blaming him for losing the election. Tipper is probably still on the black list for questioning the trash Hollywood (or the music industry - same thing) produces.

Watching her run would almost be as hilarious as watching the Reno campaign in Fla. What a joke.

I'm in Nashville right now on a spring holiday, and I've seen at least 3 "Gore-free in Tennessee" stickers this week. The good people here hate the Gores so much that they've kept their anti-Gore stickers on their cars from 2000. Maybe it was that concession speech where Gore talked about "coming home to mend fences" that caused this?

Let's face it, the Gores never learned the fine art of stealing as well as the Clinton couple.

They need money to continue the lifestyle they became accustomed to when he was vice-president.

Al is hedging his bets. Since he doesn't know if he can nab the presidency or not, he's shoving the old lady forward to try to luck out with a remunerative senate seat. This would bring in at least six years guaranteed income, plus what they can steal after some lessons from the Clintons.

And Al wouldn't have to go back to teaching in some god-forsaken college.

Mrs. Gore is known for her interest in mental health issues. She said she became interested partly because her mother used to suffer from severe depression. And she said she herself was treated for clinical depression after her son, Albert III, then 6, was hit by a car in 1989 and nearly died.

One of Mrs. Gore's first forays into public life was in the 1980s when she persuaded the recording industry to label songs with explicit lyrics. She was accused of censorship. The late rock musician Frank Zappa called her a "cultural terrorist."

Emotions have since simmered to the point where the music business seems to have given her a break — something that could be important should she run for office in Tennessee, given that state's own music scene.

Bill Farmer, chairman of the Tennessee Democratic Party, said he had not heard that Mrs. Gore was considering running for Senate but said she would be a good candidate.

"Mrs. Gore has always been an outstanding campaigner and would be an asset to any office she might seek," Farmer said. "She's friendly and people like her, and she has a broad knowledge of the issues that face our state and our nation."

Former Tennessee Gov. Lamar Alexander (news - web sites), a Republican, said he would seek the Senate seat. He has high name recognition in the state, and Farmer said Democrats would be helped by having a candidate who also is well known.

Republican Rep. Ed Bryant (news) also is running for Thompson's seat.

On the Democratic side, Reps. Harold Ford Jr. and Bob Clement are considering running.

The Gores married in 1970 and have four children.

So let her get a job raising money for charity or tutoring inner city kids rather than trying to occupy and degrade an otherwise worthwhile senate seat.

If I had my way, there would be a campaign reform bill that said every every politician elected to any office would have to first establish eligibility to run by working in the private sector or serving in the military for at least the same number of years they sought a seat at the public trough. And once they passed those years in office, they would be ineligible to run for any other until they spend the necessary number of years back in the private, tax-producing sector.
