"One of the sources said Mrs. Gore was committed to public service and believed she owed it to herself to give some thought to a run."

So let her get a job raising money for charity or tutoring inner city kids rather than trying to occupy and degrade an otherwise worthwhile senate seat.

If I had my way, there would be a campaign reform bill that said every every politician elected to any office would have to first establish eligibility to run by working in the private sector or serving in the military for at least the same number of years they sought a seat at the public trough. And once they passed those years in office, they would be ineligible to run for any other until they spend the necessary number of years back in the private, tax-producing sector.

Could we please add to your list that NONE of their spouses could work in offices directly connected to their "public service" job? ie: Daschle/Mrs.Daschle(that includes both Republicans and Democrats). I don't trust any of them.
