I was the recipient of a very pleasant surprise when I retrieved my weekly copy of the conservative newspaper, HUMAN EVENTS, from my mailbox a few minutes ago. On page 12, in Joe D'Agostino's 'Conservative Spotlight' column, my eye was caught immediately by a black-and-white photo of Free Republic founder Jim Robinson!
This is a very flattering article; Jim discusses the history of Free Republic; the mission statement; and the situation with the LAT/WP legal entanglement.
Please keep in mind that HUMAN EVENTS has a subscriber base approaching 50,000, and is read by a number of "movers and shakers" in the Washington area. Hopefully, this prominent article in HUMAN EVENTS will help swell the ranks of both posters and lurkers here at Free Republic!

I can send you some delicious homebaked Hungarian sugar cookies with plum filling - in the freezer left over from Christmas, but still real yummy when popped in a toaster oven for a few seconds. ;-)

Thanks for the heads up. Great stuff.

Is D'agostino syndicated? Perhaps you could find the column on another conservative website if it is syndicated.

Good thing Human Events published the article before the FR format changes were installed.
