Everybody already knows that smoking causes immediate death to the smoker and everyone within 100 yards. How about directing some of this urge to inform the public toward issues like social security, AIDS prevention, or abortion?

Wouldn't it be great if the tobacco companies pulled an "Atlas Shrugged" and just shut down?
To: Tumbleweed_Connection
The DOJ is proposing strict new provisions for cigarette pack labeling including requiring graphic health warnings on 50 percent of the label, which would have to be black and white only.OH MY GOD! YOU MEANT TO TELL ME THAT CIGARETTES ARE BAD FOR MY HEALTH?!

It sure worked in Canada. Maybe we should raise the price to 10 bucks a pack. Then we can have the crime wave and bootlegging that they enjoyed, too. I think it would be funny if every tobacco company shut down. Then what would the government do for money without legal smokers to rob.

Run a query on "Gunsmoke".

Oh yeah, that really worked in Canada - where the kids trade the "graphical warnings" on the labels like baseball cards.

I actually knew the slip-ons were being produced--but I thought of it first. LOL. Now I'm working on a make-your-own kit which will include seeds to grow your own, video instructions on processing it, an automatic multiple-cigarette maker, a classy case to carry them in and a Zippo.
