According to Jerusalem police spokesman Kobi Zarhad, Salah was wearing an explosive belt on his stomach and detonator to his chest, adding that this person was killed because he could not be subdued. At least they did not make a snuff film out of it and mail it to his mother.....or sell copies of it in the temple.

The difference between civilization and barbarism.

Right you are. The pix aren't pretty, but they're much nicer than those from bombed cafes.

Hope he was wearing clean underwear.

Actually, I noticed that they appeared to be clean. I had thought that when one died, one's bowels evacuated. Any coroners or LEOs here?

The headline could have been about dead policemen trying to subdue a suspected terrorist........ Just ask someone who was at a pizza parlor attack how they feel about this outcome.

Ah yes, another "holy" warrior, naked in the streets, being scooped up by a robot.

"He looks subdued to me. Looks like a murder. Lucky for him he was is a democracy"

Hmmmm?? No he doesn't - subdued means he responded to the commands the police gave him. The fact he's on his knees and not laying flat out indicates he was resisting arrest. Murder - means no reason - surely the police had a reason ... he had a bomb strapped to his stomach. Tell your Arab friends - terrorists are terrorists - no matter what nation they come from.

It doesn't look to me like they shot him until they saw that he had a belt on. If the bomber could have done so, and I'm sure he was trying, he would have detonated the belt before he was shot.

To me, that's no different than pulling a gun on a policeman. Once the bomber detonates it, there aren't any police left to subdue him.

Good riddance, and if anyone thinks this wasn't a prudent thing for the police to do, they really need to get a clue.

He looks subdued to me.

Sounds like you need to do a little suicide bomber patrol in Israel.

Get up real close and tell the police not to hurt the nice guy with a bomb strapped to his guts.

Looks from the photos like they got him on the ground, found the explosives, and then gave him one to the head. Though he could already be wounded in the first photo, that looks like blood on the ground.

His buddy is probably 75% inside-out by now in a Shin Bet interrogation room. Lie down with dogs.......get up with a headache.

The guy seems to be squirming all over the place trying to keep his knees under him. Is that the bomb belt lying next to him in the most graphic picture? And is that what the robot is trying to drag?

Yeah, I just hope they confirmed he had explosives on him before they shot him in the head. The photo series here appears to show him stripped to his underwear BEFORE he was shot in the head, whereas the police account has them opening fire on him because he refused to take off a large overcoat.

Something's not right here -- if you see a guy in a large overcoat who you believe has major explosives hidden underneath, you don't open fire on him from handgun range, 'cause if he really does have 'em you're dead, and if he doesn't you just shot someone without cause. Doesn't look like they did, anyhow, in spite of what they said. The photos suggest they subdued him, stripped him of everything but his underpants, presumably confirmed the explosives, and then executed him. Beats being tortured in an Israeli prison, I'm sure. Assuming he really was packed with explosives, he didn't deserve any better.

And what the heck is that robot doing? Before the guy gets shot, the police are literally on top of him, pulling his clothes off; then after he's dead, they need a robot to check him out safely? Odd, very odd.
