... my point being - you need to get out of the 'bunker' more. This piece reads more like a nighmare than a 'novel' - perhaps that's your intent, a kind of militant Stephen King piece.
BTW - your 'radio traffic' looks VERY Hollywood-ish ...
Regarding the "bunker" ... check out the pics with the scouts ... only "bunkers" there are the snow caves ... and those save lives.
But thanks for the BUMPs ... I'll play the BUMP game on this thread with you all day and let other folks make up their own mind.

_Jim, in case you haven't been taking note of recent events both within your nation's borders and elsewhere, allow me to enlighten you a bit:
Jeff's first book of this five-book series (undoubtedly a 'nightmare' by your limited-visibility definition as well) turned out to be eerily prophetic in many ways. Book two, from what I have already read of it, may well turn out to be the same. Yes, events in both books are disturbing, to say the least. But _Jim, during this particular time in history, head-in-the-sand is not a wise position to assume....and it makes for a crummy vista to boot. You might want to try assuming an upright position, and take a look around.
One person's 'nightmare' is another person's fact-based reality. It really all boils down to whether one is capable of acknowledging the precariousness of the world in which we find ourselves living....or chooses instead to walk around in a state of denial.
Jeff happens to be a member of the former group, who not only acknowledges clear and present dangers, but also is expending significant amounts of personal time and energy to do what he can to both allay them, and to awaken others to their existence and severity.
Your silly comments are way off the mark. But, then again, you know what they say about leopards and their spots....
