Since when are terrorists this organized? The height of terrorist sophistication amounts to a suicide bomber or a dozen men with boxcutters. Personally, I am far more afraid of the NEA.
Jeff, you need to sell through Amazon or Barnes and Nobles as much as possible. Publishers pay attention to sales recored by these stores, and have no way of knowing how well your book is selling out of your home,or that there is even any interest in it. The name of the game is "public exposure". You need it if you ever hope to get a publisher.
... my point being - you need to get out of the 'bunker' more. This piece reads more like a nighmare than a 'novel' - perhaps that's your intent, a kind of militant Stephen King piece. BTW - your 'radio traffic' looks VERY Hollywood-ish ...
_Jim, in case you haven't been taking note of recent events both within your nation's borders and elsewhere, allow me to enlighten you a bit:
Jeff's first book of this five-book series (undoubtedly a 'nightmare' by your limited-visibility definition as well) turned out to be eerily prophetic in many ways. Book two, from what I have already read of it, may well turn out to be the same. Yes, events in both books are disturbing, to say the least. But _Jim, during this particular time in history, head-in-the-sand is not a wise position to assume....and it makes for a crummy vista to boot. You might want to try assuming an upright position, and take a look around.
One person's 'nightmare' is another person's fact-based reality. It really all boils down to whether one is capable of acknowledging the precariousness of the world in which we find ourselves living....or chooses instead to walk around in a state of denial.
Jeff happens to be a member of the former group, who not only acknowledges clear and present dangers, but also is expending significant amounts of personal time and energy to do what he can to both allay them, and to awaken others to their existence and severity.
Your silly comments are way off the mark. But, then again, you know what they say about leopards and their spots....
Good Lord man! You are FAST!
Luis
Best regards to you my friend.
Today, for some reason, it jumped all the way to about 6,000 and has been between there and 9,000 all day. I have no idea why.
I intend to get the 2nd book out by the end of May. <p. regards.
I'll have a second excerpt from book two in a few weeks.
Every effort has been made to make Volume 2 of the Dragons Fury series, Trodden Under, a standalone novel that can be purchased and read individually. In order to do this, in the introduction of characters and story line, short paraphrasing of past activities and experiences has been introduced in an effort to bridge the two stories together and to allow first time readers enough flavor and background to enable them to enjoy Volume 2 without having to first read Volume 1, Dragons Fury - Breath of Fire. At the same time, I have attempted to do this in such a way as to also allow those who have already read Volume 1 and anticipated Volume 2, to pick up the tale with as much continuity and as little redundancy as possible.Something on that order will be included in all volumes.Obviously, such an effort is a balancing act and I believe I have struck a good balance. Time, the experience of readers and their comments will tell. In either case, whether you are a new reader of the series, or whether you are returning for Volume 2 after having read Volume 1, I hope that the read is an enjoyable, compelling and thought provoking one for you
I say all of this with one final comment/observation. The books are written as a series. Even though I am making every effort to allow the various volumes to be read as standalone novels, they really were meant to be read as a series and I sincerely hope everyone who picks one up and reads it, will be inspired by that reading to read them all.
BUMP
Talk about scary, I was just ready to link that thread to this one.
Great timing for you!
I'll send you a FRemail.
It seems to be getting some exposure, mostly word of mouth. I believe the current ranking on Amazon is the right one now (rankings of 6000-900 earlier today were skewed I believe) and it's resting at about 44,000. Up another 7-8000 in the last two days.
Hope it keeps going at that rate.
